Breaking Dawn Review ( No Spoilers)

breaking-dawn.jpg

Holy halfbreeds.

I just finished Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn. I think I’m going to go cry now. If you haven’t read the books from the Twilight saga, now would be a good time to jump off a cliff or pick up the books.

I don’t care how you feel about vampires or mythological creatures: this book is for everyone. It’s not as ornamented as the Harry Potter series, but it’s def. a little more realistic. Not only that, it’s much more passionate. Anyone could relate to at least one of the characters.

The book was incredible. It surpassed all my expectations and it felt like an emotional rollercoaster. I don’t know what ending could have topped it. It was everything I dreamed of and more . I recommend this book to anyone who wants to enter a world of risk, danger, and passion.

If you need a mini vacation from your life, read this series. You’ll absolutely be craving for more books like this one.

UPDATE: MIDNIGHT SUN PREVIEW

I loved it, too! I’m kinda relieved it’s over, but a little sad, too! And, there is even Godiva chocolate to go with it now–talk about match made in vampire heaven.

    Check it out here: http://www.weheartchocolate.com

  4. bam Says:

it wasn’t that good. it actually failed.

  5. Allison Says:

Wow. I completely disagree with you.

  6. Snaps Says:

Ugh. Sorry to say this, but gag me with a spoon. I couldn’t stand it. It read like some sort of fanfiction combined grotesquely with science fiction. It didn’t follow the trend of the other books at all. Sorry, I just disagree.

  7. Dawn Says:

This was the worst book I ever read. She did not stay true to her characters.
The love story between Edward and Bella was gone. Replaced with sex and a demon child.
Edward offers his wife for stud service to Jacob? You have got to be kidding me.
The first 3 books was about sacrafic and Bella had none. She ended up with everything she wanted gift wrapped in a ugly bow.
This was a horrible ending to a great series.

  8. Maleficent Says:

I totally agree with Snaps. I felt like I was reading a fanfiction and a bad one at that. She didn’t keep true to the characters. I missed a lot of the characters it was like they weren’t really there. Mainly the Cullen family. I felt it was also very predictable and I hate books like that. It was a race that you know you’ve lost but you finish anyway. I ended it with a sigh and a very bad taste in my mouth.

  9. Rebecca Says:

I absolutely loved this book. It was the PERFECT finale for a PERFECT series. Breaking Dawn connected all of the other stories bringing everything together perfectly. Thanks Stephenie! You once again shocked me, thrilled me, made me love the characters, and left me wanting more but feeling complete as well! I ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY LOVED IT!!!!!!

  10. Matylda Says:

I don’t agree with you whatsoever. The book was horrible - the whole entire series was horrible. Is it just me, or are the teenagers who aren’t completely warped into the series the only ones that are actually say that book isn’t good all? Because I’m a sixteen year old girl and the Twilight series is complete crap.

    :/

  11. Maleficent Says:

I’m 17 and I liked Twilight when I first read it. I liked New Moon too. But when I reread them and then read Eclipse I wasn’t so sure of myself. I feel completely stupid now that I’ve read Breaking Dawn. I feel guilty for dragging some of my friends into this nonsense. I am waiting for them to
    hate me now.

  12. Katiedid Says:

I AGREE WITH YOU! I’ve never laughed or cried this much durning my first time reading a book. It was crazy.. a rollercoaster.. so worth it. It may have been a lot to swallow and some people will jump to conclusions about character choices and actions.. but stop and think ! Stephenie would not create a crappy ending, it’s what she wanted, and it may just take longer for people to except it.

    LOVED IT!

  13. Jessica Says:

I totally agree with your review, I have read the four books and it’s just amazing how Stephanie Meyer developed the whole story and makes you crave for more. I am 24 years old, and even though I thought at the beginnig that the book was going to be kind of silly because it was for teens, it teaches your, or at least it taught me about true love not only between Edward and Bella, but with their whole family and friends. It’s incredibly the way it takes you out from your own reality and your practically live the book inside you, you feel excitment, passion, sadness and just can’t take your eyes off it.
I don’t really care what many reviews say about the book being a little bit weird, to me it’s AWESOME!!! and I couldn’t help it but cry at the end!

  14. Melo Says:

I found it disappointing. The rest of the books I loved, but this one felt soooo different.

I will re-read Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse many times I’m sure, but not Breaking Dawn.

I am however, looking forward to Midnight Sun. I still have hope for that one.

  15. DangerGirrl Says:

Ok, you people who like the book are just worried she will never do another! well after this I god hope she does not becuse 3/4 of the book sucked harder a vampire. IT WAS BAD!
    1) Jacob Imprints on Bellas abby
    2) Bella having a baby
    3) Edward eating Bellas after birth
    4) none of the charters sounded like the other books
    5) FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY Stephenie Meyer SAY IT WAS ALL A DREAM BALLA HAD WHILE IN A COMBA AFTER THE FIRST NIGHT OF SEX. YOU MANAGED TO KILL ONE OF THE BEST STORIES

  16. dissapointed Says:

I am a huge obsessive twilight fan. I found the book in a book fair once and I was hooked on it. but not because of the vampire twist, I adored it because I could relate. I found some sort of peace in reading these books until today. I just finished it. I am highly disappointed in Meyers. Not to say that the plot wasn’t good, but it could have been so much more… it could have made you laugh cry and understand a little more about these characters before officially setting them free.. I wanted there to be so much more, I was going crazy over it for months.. to get a book that didn’t explain these characters, as for nessie.. I despise that.. reneesme.. it was a nice thought but I think Stephanie Meyers was given a limited time to create this world, because of us over enthused fans, and she did a great job, but she may have lost sight with her characters a bit.. I find this saga unfinished.. and in all truth I believe that she should create another book.. finishing things up a bit.. btw Bella was too damn controlled it pissed me off, not the mention the messages sent for horrible.. I love a happy ending.. I have lived my entire life dreaming, I am always lost in the clouds but this was too much. I am not even upset at the baby, but Jacob falling in love with it, not to mention that baby will end up just like that little boy, she wont grow much, she will look like child for ever…..

  17. chibianime91 Says:

Personally, I LOVED this book. It has to be her best work ever. Her stories are simlpe but at the same time filled with so much detail. I’ve noticed that there is no in between with her books. You either loved it or hated it.

  18. Cecilia Says:

personally, i thought the book was great. it was just missing action and the end was a little too perfect, but other than that, i loved it :]

  19. zync Says:

i’m sorry, twilight fans, but i think Breaking Dawn was a disappointment. i liked the first three books - it seemed much more connected, while the fourth seemed so out of place. it wasnt consistent with the rest. I felt there were alot of plot holes too..i agree that Stephenie Meyer might have been given too short a time to write the fourth book. it could have been mich better. i just felt that she made alot of things too convenient - like the fact that bella never has to go through the whole ‘newborn unable to control its unbearable thirst’ thing. and charlie conveniently accepts it and asks to NOT be told any details. and the baby conveniently has a superbly advanced mental capacity and can understand right away that killing people to satisfy your thirst is wrong.

by the way, i’ve always thought that bella and edward’s relationship is way too unhealthy. and i absolutely cannot stand bella! i always thought she was okay, but after reading this fourth book, esp the part fr jacob’s perspective, and then thinking back to what she was like in the past 3 books, i suddenly find her really selfish! and stupid too. it’s like, all she ever did (before turning into a vampire) is HURT people! because of her indecisiveness, the people around her who love her, esp jacob and edward, keep getting hurt. then she feels guilty and starts blaming herself for all that, and seeing her so distraught, they are in even greater pain! all that AGONY she caused them! it was like a vicious cycle. so actually, i really liked the ending, no matter how convenient it was and how bella got evrything she ever wanted. at least everyone is happy. whew.

  20. Chandani Says:

Sappy teenager crap that people either obsessively hate or obsessively like. Too bad people can’t seem to pay attention that this entire series was a complete and total waste of anyones time and effort. Stephanie does have one thing right though she is not a writer. I’ve read blogs online that were more intelligent then this.

I guess, mindless ramblings are what people like. Go figure.

  21. Claire Says:

Overall i think that it was a disappointment especially in consideration of the hype that surrounded it’s release. In a way i saw the change in tone coming as many people probably similarly saw when she released the first chapter. ie, Edward changing his tone, The whole business with Renee and Charlie where we were prepared for large conflict and tension and received not even the tiniest disagreement. Predominately i think that the biggest let down was the entire story arc of Renesmee. Although it’s a sweet thought, there was just too much focus upon her in a novel which done well, would have carried off well because nobody can deny that they didn’t have dreams of Bella and Edward having a family one day; but evidently in most respects, she failed to present the story in a way that wasn’t awkward and ideological. There was some major contradictions to what she claimed about the characteristics and the events of the novel that i think many readers picked up on. However in regards to the claim that Edward and Bella technically can’t have sex as he does not have any blood could possibly answered by the fact that he does have venom, which can act as a substitute for blood. But the sperm issue well…one can only imagine.

    Problems
    - The tone and characterization was off
    - The main story lines were a little unrealistic and superficial in relation to her previous novels
    - There wasn’t enough tension
    - The climax of the story (the battle) was underwritten as if you vehemently analyze it, it was nothing more than people talking and a lot of snide remarks and glances. Thus leading to her one of her biggest predicaments; she can’t, doesn’t or won’t write battle scenes.
Twilight - Not a real battle, more of a confrontation and Bella was unconscious for most of it so there was no real details of what happened
New Moon - No battle, just talk
Eclipse - Technically there was a battle but we as readers were not present. Rather we got the watered down version of what happened
Breaking Dawn - Again, no battle

    Pro’s
    - We got a final chance to be emerged in the realm that Meyer created which to me, having waited a year, was satisfying in itself despite being let down by the general premise of the novel

  22. Mori Says:

I really enjoyed the book, I had it twice because I missed some things the first time. The thing is no mater how Mrs, Meyer ended the book people would have been unhappy. One of the problems is Breaking Dawn should have been two books. I think she tried to hard to fit everything in and so some great stuff/ideas got left on the way side. Another thing I felt that kids under 16 or 17 are going to have a hard time with the first half of the book especially the whole honeymoon and Renesmee birth. And by the way, Edward does not eat the afterbirth. I don’t know how that person came up with that. It was great to get to know Roselie and Jasper a little better. But I felt Emse and Emmett were no more then window dressing.

Then there was Jacob narrative (which annoyed me at first) but what about Edward. I know that she is planning on Midnight Sun (can’t wait) but I would have loved to know what he was thinking when Bella told him she pregnant and so forth.

I know that Jacob imprinted on Renesmee but would it have hurt to see Edward spend some time her. It seem the only ones who spent quality time with her was Roselie, Jacob, Bella and Charlie. You never get any interaction with her and Carlisle or Esme. Okay that what’s bothered me.

I don’t know if I was the only who noticed but Bella grew up, matured. I don’t know if that happened after the wedding, when she had Renesmee or became a vamp. I felt she became Edward’s equal and then slightly surpass him. Maybe that’s why I felt Edward got pushed to the background.

Anyway, I loved the wedding I was smiling like an idiot through the whole thing. It could have been longer though. The honeymoon was kind of awkward which it should be for two people who waited. When Bella almost killed Jacob for imprinting on her daughter, couldn’t stop laughing. The best part, I know it would have been easy for Mrs. Meyer to have put in battle but I’m so glad she didn’t. She used intelligence instead which I think is a lot harder. Its obvious that she loved her characters so killed them off wasn’t an option. Yes, the ending was sugary sweet but then again it is a fantasy. And sometime you get a happy ending.

  23. twilighter Says:

BREAKING DAWN WAS A HUGE DISAPOINTMENT!! THE WORST BOOK IN THE TWILIGHT SERIES…STEPHNIE MEYER JUST RAN OUT OF IDEAS.and those who say she is a jk.rowling are stupid cuz she wont ever be as good as her and she just screwed up teh whole series for me!

  24. twilighter Says:

after she wrote bella gets pregnant the whole book went downhill

  25. Spencer Says:

I am disappointed in Breaking Dawn. The book in general was convenient. I respect it if an author wants to change his/her way of writing, but this book was a bad ending to the Twilight series. Bella, a character who used I used to like, is a stranger in this book. She turned into someone who merely wanted sex. In addition, what happened to all the love between Bella and Edward? It just was not present. They had sex, a lot, but rarely did they have conversations. None of the characters had personalities. They were just…there. For a 700+ page book, nothing really happened. Every detail in this book so coincidentally worked out so well, it got tedious. The suspense, and even that was bad, led up to basically nothing. Just talking. It took a lot of patience to finish reading this. I wonder, what happened to the author that wrote Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse?

  26. twilighter Says:

i couldnt agree more with u spencer…..she just lost the whole page-turner vibe that the other books held

  27. La Tua Cantante Says:

[[THIS REVIEW CONTAINS A LOT OF SPOILERS.]]

Stephenie Meyer’s book, “Breaking Dawn” was terrible.

I’m not a huge fan of the Twilight series, mainly because Meyer’s writing is horrible. Her plots are shallow, and her characters lack depth. None of them are in the slightest way believable, or relate-able. As a reader, I was completely unattached to all of the characters in her books,(with the possible exception of Jacob, but then I only felt a slight twinge of remorse and only once).

However, there is something compelling about her style, which caused me to be unable to put the books down.

She completely lost all of my respect with Breaking Dawn. Taking into consideration that her target audience falls between the ages of 11 and 16, the amount of sex was shocking. Especially considering that Edward and Bella are painted in our reader’s mind as being 17 and 18, respectively. The marriage was pushing it, but the sex every time the two were alone was uncalled for. Once would have been excusable, but I lost count of how many times the two protagonists decided to ‘bump uglies’, as it were.

And then there’s the pregnancy. In our world of real-life teenage pregnancy, and our attempted prevention of it, the last thing we need is to have it thrown in the entertainment fiction of our youth. Much less do we need such an ugly, graphic and frankly horrifying version of pregnancy in our youth literature. It sends a conflicting message, Bella’s choice to keep her baby is OBVIOUSLY pro-life, whereas the horrifying portrayal of pregnancy really serves no purpose but to scare girls, which in turn becomes subliminally pro-choice.

No 11-16 year old girl needs to have this in her books.

The plot was seriously lacking, and painfully stretched out. The only potentially interesting point of the book arrived with the Volturi, who are the only at all intriguing characters in the book (Meyer is almost eerie in her description of their sadistic joys). But even that was disappointing. How many chapters of anticipation and preparation and attempted anxiety and fear did Meyer make us slog through only for the looming terror to result in nothing more than a dry conversation?

While I wasn’t expecting a work of the same caliber of Anne Rice, I certainly wasn’t expecting such an ill thought out, and ridiculously stretched out plot. Perhaps Meyer can redeem herself with the next installment of the Twilight Saga (although no release date for “Midnight Sun” has been set yet, the first chapter is available to read online through Meyer’s website, http://www.stepheniemeyer.com). I’ll certainly read it, but merely for habit’s sake, and not with much interest, I’m sad to say.

  28. sahana Says:

i loved breaking dawn purely because edward was in it (*sigh*) but i do agree that stephenie didnt stay as true to the characters as much i’d hoped. the plot was amazingly well-thought out but there was a bit too much story and too little character in the book. i feel like she says that she “writes like no one will ever read it” but ultimately got caught up in the fanfiction and told us what we all wanted to hear. im sad it had to end but i dont feel that it ended on a completely terrible note. i just hope that the movie of twilight doesnt turn out to be a complete failure either.

  29. suzz Says:

i think wen BElla got pregnant… is reali a nice perspective that MEYER brings to de book…. eets de very emotional and touching how nessie capture de whole essence of the book… here we can see how BElla n EDward strives to protect the only one thing that symbolize their loves… this furthers cement de love they had between them… i think breaking dawn brings tat emotional factor inside…. allowing us to see how BELLA has mature and also her love for her child… i think eets worth de book…
great job meyer…. i neva cried while reading any book.. but THIS book is an emotional roller coaster…

*u may disagree wif me but to each his own….

  30. Dawn 2 Says:

yeah… everyone said it already.. this book was a big disappointment… i just wanna get it out of my chest.. We should’ve given Meyer more time… she would’ve made something better than this… spoofing Stewart (hollywood Bella): sucked in all the WRONG ways…. The three books got wasted because of this really awful ending..

  31. In the Middle Says:

Hmm…I didn’t like it that much, but it was different to see all the pieces of happiness file into place. Exactly. Too perfect. The drama was a bit annoying, because a fight never did actually occur, and only Irina died…hmm…I think, it would be fair to say that this should not be the end of this saga, because I would hope that the lose ends of actually fighting and throwing off the Volturi, and what does happen between Jacob and Renesmee (Urgh to that and the baby’s name), and perhaps what else may go on in their forever…

Now that would be something to read - especially since she introduced so many characters…it just leaves room for someone to ask, okay, so what happens to them?

  32. Meghan Says:

I haven’t quite finished it yet but i decided to quickly look at the reviews.

I only have a hundred pages left (give or take) and i must admit, its not nearly as exciting and compelling as the first three. Bella struggling to fit in and love the vampire family is an element which made this series difficult to put down. But after she became a vampire it was kinda boring. Because then she had everything she wanted.

Dont get me wrong, I am an Edward fan. However, I wish the
immortal thing would of been completed towards the end because some of Bella’s most distinguishing features were lost after the procedure was finished.

Alsooo, I feel like using Jacob’s point of view for so much of the book was sort of a cheat around describing the events that took place after the honeymoon.

Anyways, despite all the flaws in the writing, I am eager to finish it. Although, I am sort of depressed about the ending of an overall great saga. I am afraid it will end in some “she woke up and it was all a dream” ending. Oh god, i hope it doesn’t!!! :\

  33. Skeptical fan... Says:

    (Some spoilers)

A very well-written book with the plot of a bad fanfiction.

    Lacked action and tension.

    Predictable, annoying, disappointing

We lost Bella’s character when she ‘changed’, also losing that romantic poetic-ness of a vampire and a human falling in love. I was a little upset at this… :(

Nearly flawless writing style, with few errs.

A satisfying, though unecessarily sappy and cliche ending.

  34. Guest Says:

I LOVED it too!!I’m glad the people in the book are happy…especially Edward and Bella and oh yeah Jacob…

    I kinda wanna read more….
    Maybe Edward’s!

    I’m totally up for that!!

  35. brittycat Says:

    this book was horrible.
i could have written a better ending.
the way meyer forgot so many things she started in the book made me go crazy.
for nearly 300 pages i was wondering what her after car was and then near the end she just all the sudden goes in and says “oh yeah i got a ——-”

    this sucked.

  36. Kelly Says:

I found the Twilight series to be pure entertainment that sucked me right it. I loved every book and espeically loved Breaking Dawn. I wasn’t looking for something to analyze and relate to. Just looking for fictional entertainment and that is what this series was. People who are giving it a bad rap are taking much too seriously! Read it for what it was and enjoy it!

  37. jdo Says:

I thought the book was actually quite enjoyable. the wedding made me a bit sad as in weddings are a really big step in ones life. to sort of leave your life behind and entrust it with someone else? but overall it was actually quite magical and perfect.
i do admit the pregnancy was unexpected adn at first i recoiled to the idea. the demon child must die!!! i was confused at Bella’s decision to jst suddenly love it and want to keep it no matter how horrible it could turn out. but then i sort of put myself in her position. i mean, could you kill something made from love, growing inside of yourself? its like chopping off an arm. i think destroying your offspring no matter how horrible it is, is a hard choice for many, “moral” women, and its different for men because they dont have something grow inside them. And for that reason thats why a lot of parents decide to keep children that are born whcih have complications.
Im glad the baby turned out ok, but seriously all the mushed names?? ahha weirrrd.
and i was sooo pissed and disgusted that jacob imprinted on the baby. i would have reacted the same way as bella if i was her. but then i was thankful jacob was there. he wsa like a big teddy bear for nessie. and i realised tht the love wasnt necessary romanitc love atm, but rather another sense of love. if that makes sense.
i was sort of waiting for the big fight at the end and sort of disappointed that nothing happened. but then relieved that no one had to die.
and as to the sex every moment theyre alone thing? i think thats fine - theyre married arent they? its sort of a slap of reality rather than crazy. and meyer could have done more with those scenes but seeing BD is a YA novel i can understand why she didnt.
overall im glad the ending was so fairytale like and perfect. i thinkk otherwise we’d be left with a sense of longing for mroe.

  38. Danni Says:

I quite enjoyed the book, but like all books they have their ugly sides. eg - the ending - couldn’t someone just die? I was really just waiting for it, hoping for it. But i think we should all just admit that,(girls esp.) we got caught up on the whole Twilight Saga because, we love the thought of some really handsome guy being totally and blindly in love with a plain, clumsy girl, which could be any of us! Basically Stephenie Meyer played with our teenage hormones and who can blame her? I certainly don’t - but I am glad the Saga has ended. Cheers to Stephenie i guess.

  39. Camillia Says:

My friend bought me the entire Twilight series for my birthday, knowing I was a huge fan of Anne Rice’s series. I managed to get through about half of Breaking Dawn before breaking out in laughter. No, it wasn’t a funny part, the book was just so out there that I couldn’t help it.

This book was quite easily one of the worst I’ve ever read, and I really did try to like it. Bella has never been my favorite character, and I found her to be unbearable in this one. Once she became a vampire, it became very, very boring and the whole baby twist (who, I have to add has the worst female name in fiction-Albus Severus, in my opinion, is the worst male’s name) was cliche and just…strange.

Oddly enough, I didn’t mind Jacob branding the child, since there were already so many strange things going on in the book that it didn’t seem that out of place. And if a book goes to that level…

Harry Potter 7 didn’t exactly impress me either, but this book DID make me appreciate it much, much more, so I can thank Breaking Dawn for that. Other than that…stay away from the book at all costs. The cliches are unbearable, the writing takes a turn for the worst, and the characters are shallow and empty. The main point in the book to me, which was the love between a human and vampire, has dissapeared.

If you want to read a good book that’s 700+ pages, read JK Rowling’s books. If you want a good vampire novel, read Interview with a Vampire, or Dracula even. Just don’t read Breaking Dawn unless you want a good laugh :)

  40. nessie Says:

OMG how can you say breaking dawn is a dissapointment.I mean SM can’t please everyone, and everyone should have known bella and edward we ending up together and she didnt want to leave Jacob all alone so he had to imprint on somebody…also i love nessie the name Renesme is okay but i liked how it resembeled the love she has 4 her family by naming her only child by them…I expected bella to b a vamp and she was going to b hurt so theyll have to change her but i loved nessie in it(what did you want to happen, the love triangle again:no she already cleared that up so SM threw in something new and it fit perfectly)Its not the best one but i loved it and didnt SM say she was going to write more relating to the story in someone elses point of veiw well if it is i think its going to b in nessies pov

  41. Collin Says:

This book was amazing. I read all 4 books for the first time in under a week and It was great. Breaking Dawn was one of the most satisfying and my favorite read ever. You either get the love between Bella and Edward or you don’t.. and I do.

  42. diana Says:

SIGH! so i understand that people can have there opinions but for the love of god why does any one hate this book so much? i understand that it didnt go the way you all wanted it to but it wasnt your book to finish, was it? What was so bad that bella had a child with the sexy vampire that she was completely in love with? they now can be happy and even have a child in their life thats really theirs! why does it matter that jacob imprinted on bellas baby? i know i wanted jacob to be happy and to be able to be around bella. well hey look at that it happen. whats so wrong about bella having a happily ever after? since when ever is that a bad thing? Im pretty sure that all of you want to have a happily ever after? so give bella and edward and jacob AND renesmee a break. I seriouly think that each of you would have gotton more mad if anything else happen. i know that this whole time i was looking at fanfiction before Breaking Dawn came out and i think that (from the looks of it) most of you also did to because of all the “it was a bad fanfiction book” sayings. well let me ask you something, what would you want to happen to finish off the book? how would you have ended the book that would make you as happy as the first 3? im dumbfounded at all the ones that say it was bad and blah blah blah. Stop looking at the book like it was horrible because it didnt end the way you wanted it too. I know i have to reread books to understand them more and I hope that you can reread the book and hopefully look at it more in a positive way. Since you already know what happens, you won’t be suprize by anything and maybe that will help you understand why she ended it that way.
sigh…well i cant say anything else or ill just be typing an essay to all of the ones that say it sucked.
p.s if you didnt know already, I LOVED the book and Stephenie, you rock! Keep doing what your doing. :]

  43. Kendra Says:

Oh good god this book made me want to cry. I went to the midnight selling for this book, thinking that it was going to be amazing and it was cat piss compared to the other three!!!

I loved Jacob and I knew he wasnt going to end up with Bella but I wanted him to imprint on someone awesome, a new character even, so he got a happily ever after but NNNOOOOOOOO!!!! Bellas daughter???!!! ARE U FREAKIN KIDDING ME????!!!!

I lost a lot of respect for Meyer after this book and to all of you who loved it……You must have had no clue of what was going on in the other books because the characters and senarios and the entire feel of Breaking Dawn was ALL WRONG!!! Now I’m gonna move on with my life and try to forget all about this book and pretend that it just ended with Eclipse and that Jacob found someone better then Bella and that Edward got tired of her eventually and left her in a dumpster somewhere where she can rot……FOREVER!!!!!!

  44. Emily Says:

I read the book in a day as i was looking for something more in the story that sadly didnt come.
I found myself very excited at the prospect of Bella being pregnant but I think the horror of the pregnancy didnt work well with Renesmee coming out as a miracle child who was gods gift and could speak at a week old.
Was Edward even the father? I cant even remember one scene off the top of my head were he actually held Renesmee. Jacob seemed to just take over that role.

Jacob, Jacob. What do we do with Jacob Black?

Stephanie seemed to try extremely hard to make Jacob the new Edward who featured less in this book than the after car Bella was supposed to receive.

Where was the conflict that there was such a huge build up to?
how disapointing that not a single member of the Volturi was ripped to shreds.
Bella was to perfect a vampire. it would have been much more enjoyable if she rampaged on the town of forks or even went after those hikers and had to have edward stop her rather than her being able to run away
WHY DID SHE NOT BREAK ANYTHING APART FROM THAT STUPID BOULDER!!!!

everyone got their happy ending so why did I still feel empty when the book was closed?

because the story was not longer about the tragic love story between human girl and vampire boy.
the vampires (cullen family) we were given three previous books to learn to love featured zero amounts and instead we were forced to try and like the dog boy who fell in love with a baby and a super vamipre that happened to have the same name as the leading lady of the last books.

  45. feathers12 Says:

SM I think made a good effort with the first 3. Reading Twilight made me want to read more. BD was too chaotic. Edward deserves someone better. Bella really isn’t all that great even if she did look like a supermodel in her immortal stages. What I was hoping that would happen was Bella go have a normal life with Jacob and perhaps have a kid with him, while Edward met a superior beauty maybe from the Volturi or something. And then everyone would be pleased. Heck, I was also hoping the Volturi clan and the Olympic Coven started a war, that would’ve been a real bloody good ending. But aside from the negative critics, and comparing this book to others, I have to say it’s unique and original. It’s a bit twisted and desirable that made memorable impressions in those who read it. For what it’s worth, I give it Kudos. There’s nothing wrong with reading about beautiful people with supernatural powers.

  46. Rikushix Says:

If you’re 24 years old and you’re not only obsessed with this series but also consider this one to be the best of the bunch, you would really be better off killing yourself. A much better contribution to the general wellbeing of society.

  47. Tiffany Says:

I absolutely agree with people’s irritation with Bella. Most girls reading the books (and guys too I bet) have found her annoying and lacking much of an independent identity…plus she’s incredibly pessimistic, and almost too obsessed with beauty–or the lack thereof (in her case). Though let’s be honest, most girls of any age are hyper-aware of beauty and society’s standards of beauty, and it eats at most of us more than it should. So Bella’s feelings of personal inadequacy, and her awe and jealousy of the ridiculous beauty of characters like Rosalie and Edward is something most ALL women of any age cane relate to on some level. Though yes, Bella overdoes it…she’s good at overdramatizing, haha. Also, her self-deprecation and defeatist attitude make you want to strangle her at (more than a few) times.

But I think the point of her being the very-flawed, weaker, obnoxious heroine–instead of the strong, highly likeable one–was essential to the core message of the books. These books carried so many beautiful messages, but above all others was that related to the love between Edward and Bella. It was unswerving, unbounded, ever-expanding, completely consuming, earth-shaking, and most importantly–unconditional–love they had for one another. As the book said, it was a love to rival any in history. And it is that love that redeems even the highly flawed and perpetually obnoxious character of Bella. Her ability to love so powerfully and fully and unendingly is ENOUGH in and of itself. That alone can save a person. Because to love like that is rare, and a person that is capable of loving like that is extraordinary without any other redeeming qualities at all. Saying Edward is too good for Bella is a bit silly, considering she’s a 17-year-old, awkward, self-deprecating, reclusive girl who has still yet to figure out really at ALL who she is. While Edward is over 90 years old, living most of that life as a vampire. Talk about a major headstart on character/identity development–seriously, can you imagine how amazing Bella could be given that same time?

All the referrences Stephanie makes to Wuthering Heights were a not-so-subtle way, I think, of beating that message into the readers’ heads–that to love so powerfully is alone enough to redeem even the most seemingly unredeemable life. That loving so completely is a feat to rival all others, and it is enough.

Anyway, just a thought. I have no desire to complain about BD. I felt that such a passionate and unconditional love as that between Edward and Bella deserved to get to endure forever. And since that happened, my heart can be happy. It is so nice for those all-consuming loves to once not end up destroying the lovers and all those around them. And it’s ok to believe such a love can exist AND that it can survive. I certainly do.

  48. abby Says:

Loved the book! It was also everything I wished for. SM delivered in a way that the characters could be happy for eternity, without any regrets or looking back as to what they missed. Bella and Edward experienced both heartache and difficulties, however their love remained strong. Jacob’s pov was humorous and necessary - Bella was confined to the house. Bella and Edward matured - they had some adult themes to deal with - which is why some people do not like the book. But oh the passion they have!!

  49. Sammmm Says:

I’ve read the book, and see how many people are disappointed with it. I too was at some degree. The way SM went with the book I thought was totally unpredictable. But I think she tried to cram too much into one book. Why not make the last unbelieveablly amazing to go along with the other great books? She should of made the last one a two book part and slowed down some, putting more detail into the characters and just everything around them as she did in the previous books. Some of the other important characters were neglected and just not really there to me. Not a whole lot of emotion and personality from them, just the bear minimum. Even though this book didnt meet my standards, I do have to give props to SM for writing fairly well in such a short time. Even more props for trying to make a book everyone would love. Everyone has a different way of picturing whats going on, and their own expectations of how they wanted the book to go. The series was amazing and this book kinda sucked, but all in all, I loved it. Couldnt of asked for anything more, except more from the last book. She wrote something new and exciting, fighting for the high standards from HP Fans, (including me). I loved following Edward and Bella through this book and there life and sad to see it end.

You either hated it or loved it. Simple as that.
And PS: Renesmee? That was the best choice of name?

  50. ♥Ashleigh Says:

I have read all of Stephanie Meyer’s books so far-inclding ‘The Host’ and i think she is a very talented author who is very harshly critisised by alot of Twilights so called ‘fans’.
It’s amazing to read some of the comments left on forums about Stephanie saying about how much of a fanastic writer she is and how wonderful her books are so far, and how much people idolise her for bringing the twilight series into their lives.
yet now the same people are downing her and wrting things like how they’ve lost all respect in her and how she’s dissapointed them and ruined the whole twilight series for them. It is absolutely ridiculous how people can change their tune so quickly. To be dissapointed in any author is something to be ashamed of, writing any book is a great accomplishment, and a wonderful achievment. I’d like to see these harsh critics try and write a series (or even just a book for that matter)that everyone would enjoy.

It’s especially horrible to be disapointed in an author who introduced you into the world of Twilight, something i know that i will always be grateful for…..people shouldn’t let an ending they don’t agree with ‘ruin’ a whole 3 other books……..

Anyway i thought Breaking Dawn was fantastic! It was my least favourite book of the series but not by much. We all knew that in the end Bella would become a vampire, so there was really no surprises there!!

I don’t agree that Bella and Edwards love is lessended in this book at all…they get married!!! um the biggest symbolisation of love there is! also Edward didnt give up on Bella once she’d given birth to Renesmee, he didn’t just allow her to die. Also he was willing to give her up, the one person that he truley loves so that she could have a baby!!!! talk about sacrifice. Yes there is quite alot of sex which i do believe could’ve been eased up on a bit for the younger readers, but they are a married couple and that component was missing for the whole previous part of their relationship.

I’m actually happy that Jacob imprinted on Renesmee, it means that now he and Bella can finally have the right relationship, and Jacob can be happy too! i like the way that Stephanie portrayed the relationship, it wasnt like Jacob wanted her in THAT way. He just plain loved her.
The ending was kinda anti-climax, i was hoping something would happen to the Volturi, it was unfair how they killed Irina but they didn’t suffer a loss…..
ummmmm and i was really happy that Bella didnt have to completely abandon Charlie…that would’ve sucked…..

So all in all i think it was a great ending for a stupendous saga and it’s a pity that everyone couldn’t be satisfied, well done Stephanie and i can’t wait to read Midnight Sun!!!!!

  51. ♥Ashleigh Says:

Whoops! btw the end of my comment there….i was supposed to tell Maleficent to not feel guilty for ‘dragging’ her friends into a wonderful series :D they definately can’t hate you……everyone has a right to their own opinion, so they either like it or they don’t but niether of their opinions is your fault!

  52. Amy Says:

It is not an obsession, more of an escape. Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn all made perfect sense to me. As I read in an interview with Stephanie Meyer, many people see Bella as weak and not a good role model for young girls. But as Stephanie explained it maybe she isn’t weak at all. Maybe being strong is hoding to who you truly were, and if Bella truly loved Edward, and her baby. Would it not be being herself to want to risk her own life to save theirs? Bella is not weak. She is willing to give the ultimate sacrifice. Her own life. No love could be stronger than that.

  53. Whoa, there ~ Says:

    (Spoilers)

Okay, okay, I think a lot of fans who are upset that so many people were disappointed have the wrong idea (or at least, an altered idea) as to WHY we are unhappy with the final book.

I’m pretty sure I speak for many when I say that SM’s writing style and her incredibly fantastic and unique idea behind the series has NOTHING to do with our oppinions of the very essential plot to each book. I believe the first three were so popular because they had a perfect balance of romance, drama, and plot twists to keep us all on our toes, at least most of the time.

The fourth most definitely had that balance of romance and drama, but the plot did not seem as smooth and unique. After sifting through some Twilight fanfics earlier this year, before the release of the book, I came to the hopeful conclusion that SM would not follow any of the cliche plotlines of these stories, for in my oppinion they seemed about as predictable as a lightswitch.

First generic plotline: Bella and Edward find a way to, y’know, have sex. Edward is able to control himself because of his powerful and unconditional love for his fiance, and Bella survives because she’s the main character.

Second generic plotline: Somehow, even though it goes against a lot of what was mentioned in the previous books, Bella is able to get pregnant. Not much to say there.

Third generic plotline (which follows the second): Bella’s baby is born and is the most beautiful baby ever to exist, typically female, with Bella’s gorgeous brown eyes and Edward’s… gorgeousness. Do you think anyone actually expects the pregnancy to end badly? Slim chance, because everything has to turn out PERFECTLY for the two main characters. I mean, they ARE the protagonists. They DESERVE a happy ending, right?

Fourth generic plotline: Bella becomes a vampire, but is able to skip all the noobie vampire crap about not controlling one’s self. Does anyone have any freaking idea how much this has come up? It’s what everyone expects, because after all, Bella IS the main character and no one really thinks SM is going to put her through all that drama. I was most unhappy with this, because it made the whole vampire thing horribly, perfectly boring.

Fifth generic plotline: A happy ending. And I know, this may sound harsh, but there is such a thing as overdoing a happy ending. There IS such a thing as keeping everyone alive and the anticipation of lots of future sex and a perfect child and la-dee-da. There DOES exist an ending so annoyingly perfect that we feel almost like the story won’t continue, it will actually just END. Right there, ba-bang, at the peak of mount joy. Time stops. Happily ever after. For eternity. A sigh of bliss…

Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I don’t LIKE happy endings. I totally love them. But I don’t like endings that are “too good to be true,” y’know?

There. I’ve summed up everything that I expected and everything I didn’t hope for and everything that happened. Overall, not a good mix for a novel.

But I’d like to end this on something more optimistic: Steph Meyer, you really do rock.

You’re definitely one of my favorite authors ever, and you didn’t let me down in the least. I’m being completely honest and sarcasm-free when I say this: fantastic ending to the series, but overdone.

That’s it. I suppose I could have just said that in the beginning and have been done with it, but serious fans don’t seem to completely understand the meaning behind that.

And if you actually read this whole thing, kudos to you!! Lol. :P

  54. laila Says:

    ok.
I never ever thought i would ever say in my whole life that a steph meyer book was crap, but breaking dawn is REALLY REALLY REALLY crap. Everyone in so OOC and there was alot of plot holes. I was hoping for war and stuff (sorry to sound bad but that is what makes a book interesting) and everything felt really rushed and weird because everyone got their happy ending.

The only thing that can make me hate this book more is the fact that one of my friends will NOT stop telling me that i have the “rob” effect and i’ll grow to like it (she always quotes steph meyer).

People can always say to me that ‘I could never write a book series’ and ‘how dare i say that BDawn was crap’ and ‘you’re not a true SMeyer fan, or twihard’, but that doesn’t mean i’ll shutup and stop saying how bad i thought this book was, because everyone has their own opinion.

oh well. Let us pretend that the series stopped at eclipse, yeah?

  55. Weee~ Says:

Well, I’m an obsessed fan from the start. I’ve been obsessed with Edward, well who wouldn’t? But…there was a part in Breaking Dawn…which I felt I didn’t quite like Edward like I did before. In my opinion, it seems like Edward doesn’t really care about Renesmee. I felt more closer to Jacob than Edward in Breaking Dawn. Also, I didn’t like the love between Edward and Bella in Breaking Dawn. It was as though it was just, sex. It was only the ‘physical’ stuff that had mattered. I was just utterly shocked when all Bella had wanted was sex.

Seriously, every character in Breaking Dawn was a stranger to me. They were portrayed differently than her previous books and I couldn’t get used to it. Edward, THE EDWARD! I even felt a bit differently about him. Well, the only one I could see who hadn’t changed was Jacob. The character which I disliked since the previous books, I actually came to love at the end. He DIDN’T changed. In fact, he seemed more like a father than Edward. That was very disappointing. I had higher expectations with Edward.

Near the end, the fight with the Volturi…I got bored to death. I actually read it vaguely first and went to bed. However, the next day, I read it more carefully. Yes, the ending was interlectual, but it was boring. J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, it was interlectual, but there was alot of suspense and I didn’t want to skip ANY of it!

However, I do think that Stephanie Meyer has good ideas and those ideas kept me reading. I still love Edward, but my obsession might’ve slightly decreased, but I might become delusional and imagine the Edward from Twilight. For Bella, I don’t get her in this book. Jacob, I actually understand him and I like him ALOT better. LOL, the only part which I found interesting was the first five chapters and Jacob’s point of view. ( I was smiling like an idiot after the wedding)

I agree with you laila, let’s pretend that the series stopped at Eclipse. =D

  56. Lynn Says:

The events in Breaking Dawn were great. Half the stuff that happened took me by surprise but at the same time. It was so disappointing all at the same time especially the end! I expected an all out war or something of that sort. The way she was writing it made it feel like the world was coming to an end if they didn’t win then all they did was just blabber on forever. I’m more interested in what Alice and Jasper were doing besides finding more people while it all happened.

  57. Renee Says:

I just don’t understand how anyone, at least anyone who reads above kindergarten level, could enjoy this book.

I was a huge Meyer fan, not anymore. I don’t care if she never wrote anything ever again or became one of the most prolific writers in history, I will never read anything written by her again.

    I am beyond disappointed!!

What a pile of crap this book turned out to be. I wish I had spent my money on another Stephen King or Dean Koontz book.

  58. LJ Says:

Wow - I am shocked reading these reviews. I thought Breaking Dawn was wonderful and the most perfect way to end the series. I can’t believe so many people didn’t like it. I’ve read the whole series twice, but Breaking Dawn three times and each time was better! Anyway, don’t believe these reviews, read it for yourself!

  59. Erin Says:

I acctually am 13 and last year i started reading the series and i loved it! All of it!! I just got Breaking Dawn from my math teacher nad am having trobles putting it down. Reading the reviews my head is spining in circles because i have no clue what to expect. I hope Breaking Dawn is the best conclusions to this Saga.

  60. Xena Says:

    I LOVED THE SERIES…
ppl just chill go to ur drugs…caz its fiction adn perfect the way it is i bet u dont have half the talent to write like steph..u just wanted a stupid ending like harry potter where one of the twins die!! which to me ruined ever thing!
I LOVE BREAKING DAWN..to bad u spent ur moneyy..so haha

  61. marce Says:

ummm i didnt like this book…
    it was all soooooooo predictable…
    it lost the magic…
and jacob.. pfft i fucking feel in love with him AND felt sick and jelous when i read he imprinted on the baby eww….
that was sooo wrong and i was supposed to be inlove with edward… she forgot about edward and made bella soo ANNOYING!!

  62. Mandy Says:

    1. i hate renesmee! and i really hate that everyone loves her and she’s SO perfect! isn’t it enough that she’s wrapped the fictional characters all around her fingers? why does she have to conquer us twilighters, 2? seriously guys, you’re being manipulated. mary sue writers have this all in their heads. honestly, would you really love rensmee to much if she was really ugly, even though she had a good heart? probably not. i think the book might have been better if it was like that, though people might not be so in love with her so much
    2. em, jazz, rose…WHERE THE F DID THOSE NICKNAMES POP OUT FROM? i wouldn’t be surprised if she started calling edward “eddie masy” all of a sudden. HONESTLY.
    3. okay now rosalie, possibly the most selfish character ever, is honestly NOT JEALOUS of bella? i think that she would be extremely jealous that bella is having a baby and she can’t. seriously. i don’t think she would encourage bella to have the baby. and bella was a plain RETARD by trusting rose when she was using bella to steal stupid renesmee.
    4. ugh. bella totally uses edward for sex. WHORE! (sorry) she’s so greedy, and once it’s over she’s like “ah that was fun edward but i’m just going to ditch you for renesmee. SERIOUSLY. he was completely not there in the series EXCEPT when it was about sex. i always kind of thought bella was kind of…i dunno greedy for edward’s body instead of himself…but there was enough balance of other stuff that it wasn’t really disturbing…but breaking dawn canceled that out. i mean the book was about sexual tension, choice, sacrifice…a million things, and it all went down the drain with breaking dawn.
    5. this is probably the most important argument i have against this book. i know SM is so passionate about children and stuff since she’s a mother and all but SERIOUSLY…this is too much! it’s like she just wrote about her dream life: every night she gets to f* the hottest, sexiest vampire in existence, then she has a PERFECT DAUGHTER WHO HAS ABSOLUTELY NO FLAWS (ppl argue that edward doesn’t have flaws either but i disagree) and also note, renesmee is a DAUGHTER and sm was dying for a daughter. coincidence? i don’t think so! also, she is 18 forever, and she gets to live forever, AND she gets to hang out with her old best friend…ugh… i know SM always says “i am a different person than bella…” SCREW THAT CRAP WOMAN YOU OBVIOUSLY WROTE THIS DISTURBING, HANGOVER PRODUCING BOOK FOR YOURSELF! and also, people say (in SM’s defense) “you don’t have to like the book, she wrote it for herself…” screw that! if SM wrote this book for herself, she should have KEPT it to herself. i am desperately trying to convince myself that BD was just a disturbing fanfiction.
    6. OMG the volturi just walk away? are you serious? come ON! and all the new introduced powers were kind of disturbing. ELEAZAR’S WAS THE BIGGEST COP-OUT EVER! UGH AND HOW COME WE NEVER GOT TO ACTUALLY MEET THE DENALIS WITHOUT INVOLVING THE DUMB BABY?! seriously, SM tacked on all these dumb characters at the end with no character development at all. WHO THE F ARE THESE PEOPLE? and yeah the “good side” got their happy ending without even having to fight for it! they didn’t deserve it! and bella is a spoiled, bratty, selfish BITCH in this book. seriously, she just kept wanting more of everything! she didn’t even care about edward’s safety in the book, even though she was so much stonger than him! also, in new moon, she was so against him fighting demetri, and suddenly, because of her motherly urge to protect her daughter she yells at him to kill demetri even if he dies in the process? plus, it almost seems like she’s selfish enough to want renesmee ALL to herself, as if edward doesn’t have any rights to her. bella doesn’t care about anyone except for renesmee, and herself when it comes to physical gratification. when the hell did she become so bratty, immature, and spoiled? i didn’t think this low of her in the other books *sighs* i could actually relate to her then with her she had all these insecurities…what? are you telling me they just disappeared when she because beautiful? what the F? edward is still insecure and he’s probably more beautiful than bella! also, btw, i refuse to believe that renesmee could be “even more beautiful than her father.” that statement shattered my heart. you really are losing it, SM.
    7. okay i don’t want to get in to this one it’s quite awkward but seriously, edward would need WAY more than a FEW bodily fluids to produce sperm! i understand that he needs SOME in order to function, but honestly, sperms need HUMAN fluids to float around in. and though some people argue that edward’s “little men” could be floating in venom…well, let’s just say that bella would return from isle esme as a newborn vampire. not a bad ending, actually. and how the hell did those little men travel with edward, become immortal and all that stuff? seriously, if you disregard what i just said above…well it might be kind of reasonable to expect a human child. but how the F did those sperm have those vampire attributes?! they would have to be changed w/ edward…now people might argue that edward could have carried his little men onto the next world like the mind reading…but the small hope that theory had was all washed away with that nahuel person. seriously. oh, and the thing about the how SM explained that men “never change from puberty to death”…F that logic it doesn’t work! i asked people about this to back this up (awkward, huh) and according to them, as men get older, the sperms reduce. well, edward is 107…now also, people might argue that the sperms might have frozen… WEL UM HOW THE HELL DOES THE F-ING BABY GROW ANYWAYS? THAT TOO, AT AN IMMENSE RATE! seriously, combined with the human-ness, shouldn’t nessie’s grown actually slow down?
    8. ALICE! Aw Alice I miss you! I want you back! Please come back! Too bad you had to turn into a shopaholic freak and nothing more in that awful book…seriously, this is like an echo of all fanfictions! there was so much more to alice than shopping! WAS…*bursts out sobbing*
    9. Edward, overprotective freak, totally pimping bella out? Are you serious? and honestly, i think edward would want to take so many more precautions…a condom at the very least so bella doesn’t end up burning in his venom?
    10. THE WRITING! o my god. this list could go on forever. anticlimactic. illogical. cheesy. mary-sue ness. cliched. stupid! seriously, bella did seem stupid enough in jacob’s head. did she really have to stoop to naming a child RENESMEE? honestly.
11.OMG i am really surprised so few people noticed this…but…imprinting. what did sm say about imprinting? the wolves are supposed to imprinting on someone who is the MOST GENETICALLY COMPATIBLE. HOW THE F DOES HE IMPRINT ON A HALF VAMPIRE? now, i know you’re saying “duh, they both have 24 chromes”…well, um…WHAT HAPPENED TO PROTECTING THE LAND FROM THE COLD ONES? people may say “well, nessie’s half human and she’s not venomous”…um, well, she still DRINKS BLOOD! imagine what their kid would be like! he would probably be so strong he’d kill all the other werewolves in the pack, plus he’d imprint, phase, and drink blood at the same time! UGH! the other thing i hated was how SM explained that jacob was pulled toward bella because of fate… screw that crap, woman, you said so yourself that the future isn’t set in stone.
    12. did anyone ever consider the fact that edward might not want this baby? did ANYONE? it seems to me that he’s just putting a show for bella, because SHE wanted the baby. seriously! they’re married! edward should have a say in what happens to his life, too!
    13. the editing! OMG so many errors! people may say this isn’t SM’s fault…well of course it’s her fault. the editors told her they didn’t want to edit this book, and they wanted to keep it a trilogy. well, she pushed, and she had all her fan support (well, we weren’t supposed to know what was in the book and we EXPECTED IT TO FOLLOW ECLIPSE!)! seriously, she wrote breaking dawn BEFORE nm and eclipse, but since she wrote eclipse, her world had changed, and the characters had matured. bella and edward’s relationship was emotionally stronger because of their separation. now, SM had to screw it all up with breaking dawn. nice job, SM. wo. way to go. you seemed so desperate for attention. as bella would say (well she WOULD say as a human while her insecurities still exist) attention is not always a good thing. well at least you got your money. seriously, i was shocked when i was reading her FAQs and she said “i wasn’t expecting so much negativity because of the high sales,” …well, how would anyone know what the book is like if they haven’t read it, genius? honestly, i had faith in her (a faith she didn’t deserve) that she would write breaking dawn better than Jo wrote HP7. well, i like HP7 much better than BD (even tho i like twilight better than HP as a series). breaking dawn to me was like drinking a cup of water and then realizing here was not water in the cup, but only air. it was empty, and it gave me headaches. now, i’m trying really hard to think of breaking dawn as a really disturbing fanfiction. it’s ALMOST easy enough, but it’s always shocking to see the word “Renesmee” in an actual book. it seems ridiculous. anyways, twilight will always be a trilogy for me. just because i hated this book doesn’t mean that i’m not a fan. i still love twilight, but i loved it so much better ending at eclipse. even though i was SLIGHTLY unsatisfied with eclipse, it is nothing compared to breaking dawn. now eclipse is almost catching up to twilight. ALMOST but not quite. SM definitely lost much of the reverence from her MATURE fans. many of the fans who loved breaking dawn either A) are deluding themselves into thinking they like it because they’ve kept up with the series so long, B) only read the books because edward’s a hottie and they finally got their sex, or C) are immature pedophiles who think there is a simple answer to everything and think that you don’t have to fight to get a happy ending.
    14. now i know this might be getting me started again (i thought i would conclude here) but that made me think of something else - the reason people read this book was because, although it consisted of fantasy creatures such as vampires and werewolves, they had to undergo so much stuggle, it made them seem almost human, unlike most fantasies. breaking dawn seriously showed how silly and immature and out of context SM became. she should have stopped w/ bella’s high school life. she should have never gotten near bella’s perfect vampire life.

  63. Pandarah Says:

I don’t understand why peopel hate this book so much.
I think that it’s good but eveything was too…rushed. Maybe it should’ve been split into two books instead.
And why is everyone saying that this will scare girls from having kids, Bella’s pregnancy didn’t scare me or anything her pregnancy just proved a mother’s love for her child. It’s not like people go around having babies with vampires everyday or something.
I admit, I didn’t enjoy the book as much as the other three but wasn’t Breaking Dawn written before the other three ?

  64. Aditi Says:

Breaking Dawn was a HUGE dissapointment. I hated it up until the part where Bella becomes a vampire and ever that part has it’s flaws. I resented how Bella was a “perfect” vampire. Renesmee was such an awful name and Jazz and Em were really bugging me. The whole book felt like a 12 year old written fan-fiction except for the Volturi scene which was REALLY DISSAPOINTING. If the Volturi were just going to agree to what they were saying, then what was the point of those approx. 150 pages of preparation for them? I was hoping that SM would kill two or three of her beloved characters so that we would have something to dwell on. After reading this book, all I’m left with is a bit of uneasiness with the fact that the characters I worshipped for like three years ended up how they did. I am extremly annoyed with the outcome of the final installment in the Twilight Saga. SM HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO US?!

Breaking Dawn didn’t kick any ass. The last scene was a total disappointment, who the hell talks out problems these days!? The whole time I just kept screamin’ “Somebody kill somebody!! Shoot him in the HEAD!!! DIE!!”
But NOOOO…they just talk, and talk, and if that wasn’t enough, they talk even more!!

Also, she gots pregnant?? Ain’t Edward dead? He ain’t no incubus, he’s a freakin’ vampire =(DEAD SPERM!!)

Pardon my slang, but Jesus H. Christ. I’ll rewrite the ending!

“Hey Bella, you’s a-lookin’ gurl.” Jacob commented smugly.

“Oh no you Didn’t!!!” Edward shot back angrily.

“Boys, get along! Everyone can have a piece!” Bella shouted.

Suddenly, Aro popped up and his comrades took out giant shotguns and SHOT ‘EM IN THE HEADS!!

Jacob and Bella were killed instantly. The bullet ricocheted off Edwards head and hit Aro, whose biggest weakness was a bullet to the head!!

“Oh noez!!” Cried his comrades, who scattered off into the moonlight.

Aro laid dead with Bella and Jacob. Edward felt bad. So he decided to get Burger King because that always cheers him up.

Alice never came back, that’s for damn sure!!

Everyone else was killed in a terrible horse drawn carriage accident.

    THE END.

    There you go. Your welcome.
