Breaking Dawn didn't kick any ass. The last scene was a total disappointment, who the hell talks out problems these days!? The whole time I just kept screamin' "Somebody kill somebody!! Shoot him in the HEAD!!! DIE!!"
But NOOOO...they just talk, and talk, and if that wasn't enough, they talk even more!!

Also, she gots pregnant?? Ain't Edward dead? He ain't no incubus, he's a freakin' vampire =(DEAD SPERM!!)

Pardon my slang, but Jesus H. Christ. I'll rewrite the ending!

"Hey Bella, you's a-lookin' gurl." Jacob commented smugly.

"Oh no you Didn't!!!" Edward shot back angrily.

"Boys, get along! Everyone can have a piece!" Bella shouted.

Suddenly, Aro popped up and his comrades took out giant shotguns and SHOT 'EM IN THE HEADS!!

Jacob and Bella were killed instantly. The bullet ricocheted off Edwards head and hit Aro, whose biggest weakness was a bullet to the head!!

"Oh noez!!" Cried his comrades, who scattered off into the moonlight.

Aro laid dead with Bella and Jacob. Edward felt bad. So he decided to get Burger King because that always cheers him up.

Alice never came back, that's for damn sure!!

Everyone else was killed in a terrible horse drawn carriage accident.

THE END.

There you go. Your welcome.

Breaking Dawn was a HUGE dissapointment. I hated it up until the part where Bella becomes a vampire and ever that part has it's flaws. I resented how Bella was a "perfect" vampire. Renesmee was such an awful name and Jazz and Em were really bugging me. The whole book felt like a 12 year old written fan-fiction except for the Volturi scene which was REALLY DISSAPOINTING. If the Volturi were just going to agree to what they were saying, then what was the point of those approx. 150 pages of preparation for them? I was hoping that SM would kill two or three of her beloved characters so that we would have something to dwell on. After reading this book, all I'm left with is a bit of uneasiness with the fact that the characters I worshipped for like three years ended up how they did. I am extremly annoyed with the outcome of the final installment in the Twilight Saga. SM HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO US?!

I don't understand why peopel hate this book so much.
I think that it's good but eveything was too...rushed. Maybe it should've been split into two books instead.
And why is everyone saying that this will scare girls from having kids, Bella's pregnancy didn't scare me or anything her pregnancy just proved a mother's love for her child. It's not like people go around having babies with vampires everyday or something.
I admit, I didn't enjoy the book as much as the other three but wasn't Breaking Dawn written before the other three ?

1. i hate renesmee! and i really hate that everyone loves her and she's SO perfect! isn't it enough that she's wrapped the fictional characters all around her fingers? why does she have to conquer us twilighters, 2? seriously guys, you're being manipulated. mary sue writers have this all in their heads. honestly, would you really love rensmee to much if she was really ugly, even though she had a good heart? probably not. i think the book might have been better if it was like that, though people might not be so in love with her so much
2. em, jazz, rose...WHERE THE F DID THOSE NICKNAMES POP OUT FROM? i wouldn't be surprised if she started calling edward "eddie masy" all of a sudden. HONESTLY.
3. okay now rosalie, possibly the most selfish character ever, is honestly NOT JEALOUS of bella? i think that she would be extremely jealous that bella is having a baby and she can't. seriously. i don't think she would encourage bella to have the baby. and bella was a plain RETARD by trusting rose when she was using bella to steal stupid renesmee.
4. ugh. bella totally uses edward for sex. WHORE! (sorry) she's so greedy, and once it's over she's like "ah that was fun edward but i'm just going to ditch you for renesmee. SERIOUSLY. he was completely not there in the series EXCEPT when it was about sex. i always kind of thought bella was kind of...i dunno greedy for edward's body instead of himself...but there was enough balance of other stuff that it wasn't really disturbing...but breaking dawn canceled that out. i mean the book was about sexual tension, choice, sacrifice...a million things, and it all went down the drain with breaking dawn.
5. this is probably the most important argument i have against this book. i know SM is so passionate about children and stuff since she's a mother and all but SERIOUSLY...this is too much! it's like she just wrote about her dream life: every night she gets to f* the hottest, sexiest vampire in existence, then she has a PERFECT DAUGHTER WHO HAS ABSOLUTELY NO FLAWS (ppl argue that edward doesn't have flaws either but i disagree) and also note, renesmee is a DAUGHTER and sm was dying for a daughter. coincidence? i don't think so! also, she is 18 forever, and she gets to live forever, AND she gets to hang out with her old best friend...ugh... i know SM always says "i am a different person than bella..." SCREW THAT CRAP WOMAN YOU OBVIOUSLY WROTE THIS DISTURBING, HANGOVER PRODUCING BOOK FOR YOURSELF! and also, people say (in SM's defense) "you don't have to like the book, she wrote it for herself..." screw that! if SM wrote this book for herself, she should have KEPT it to herself. i am desperately trying to convince myself that BD was just a disturbing fanfiction.
6. OMG the volturi just walk away? are you serious? come ON! and all the new introduced powers were kind of disturbing. ELEAZAR'S WAS THE BIGGEST COP-OUT EVER! UGH AND HOW COME WE NEVER GOT TO ACTUALLY MEET THE DENALIS WITHOUT INVOLVING THE DUMB BABY?! seriously, SM tacked on all these dumb characters at the end with no character development at all. WHO THE F ARE THESE PEOPLE? and yeah the "good side" got their happy ending without even having to fight for it! they didn't deserve it! and bella is a spoiled, bratty, selfish BITCH in this book. seriously, she just kept wanting more of everything! she didn't even care about edward's safety in the book, even though she was so much stonger than him! also, in new moon, she was so against him fighting demetri, and suddenly, because of her motherly urge to protect her daughter she yells at him to kill demetri even if he dies in the process? plus, it almost seems like she's selfish enough to want renesmee ALL to herself, as if edward doesn't have any rights to her. bella doesn't care about anyone except for renesmee, and herself when it comes to physical gratification. when the hell did she become so bratty, immature, and spoiled? i didn't think this low of her in the other books *sighs* i could actually relate to her then with her she had all these insecurities...what? are you telling me they just disappeared when she because beautiful? what the F? edward is still insecure and he's probably more beautiful than bella! also, btw, i refuse to believe that renesmee could be "even more beautiful than her father." that statement shattered my heart. you really are losing it, SM.
7. okay i don't want to get in to this one it's quite awkward but seriously, edward would need WAY more than a FEW bodily fluids to produce sperm! i understand that he needs SOME in order to function, but honestly, sperms need HUMAN fluids to float around in. and though some people argue that edward's "little men" could be floating in venom...well, let's just say that bella would return from isle esme as a newborn vampire. not a bad ending, actually. and how the hell did those little men travel with edward, become immortal and all that stuff? seriously, if you disregard what i just said above...well it might be kind of reasonable to expect a human child. but how the F did those sperm have those vampire attributes?! they would have to be changed w/ edward...now people might argue that edward could have carried his little men onto the next world like the mind reading...but the small hope that theory had was all washed away with that nahuel person. seriously. oh, and the thing about the how SM explained that men "never change from puberty to death"...F that logic it doesn't work! i asked people about this to back this up (awkward, huh) and according to them, as men get older, the sperms reduce. well, edward is 107...now also, people might argue that the sperms might have frozen... WEL UM HOW THE HELL DOES THE F-ING BABY GROW ANYWAYS? THAT TOO, AT AN IMMENSE RATE! seriously, combined with the human-ness, shouldn't nessie's grown actually slow down?
8. ALICE! Aw Alice I miss you! I want you back! Please come back! Too bad you had to turn into a shopaholic freak and nothing more in that awful book...seriously, this is like an echo of all fanfictions! there was so much more to alice than shopping! WAS...*bursts out sobbing*
9. Edward, overprotective freak, totally pimping bella out? Are you serious? and honestly, i think edward would want to take so many more precautions...a condom at the very least so bella doesn't end up burning in his venom?
10. THE WRITING! o my god. this list could go on forever. anticlimactic. illogical. cheesy. mary-sue ness. cliched. stupid! seriously, bella did seem stupid enough in jacob's head. did she really have to stoop to naming a child RENESMEE? honestly.
11.OMG i am really surprised so few people noticed this...but...imprinting. what did sm say about imprinting? the wolves are supposed to imprinting on someone who is the MOST GENETICALLY COMPATIBLE. HOW THE F DOES HE IMPRINT ON A HALF VAMPIRE? now, i know you're saying "duh, they both have 24 chromes"...well, um...WHAT HAPPENED TO PROTECTING THE LAND FROM THE COLD ONES? people may say "well, nessie's half human and she's not venomous"...um, well, she still DRINKS BLOOD! imagine what their kid would be like! he would probably be so strong he'd kill all the other werewolves in the pack, plus he'd imprint, phase, and drink blood at the same time! UGH! the other thing i hated was how SM explained that jacob was pulled toward bella because of fate... screw that crap, woman, you said so yourself that the future isn't set in stone.
12. did anyone ever consider the fact that edward might not want this baby? did ANYONE? it seems to me that he's just putting a show for bella, because SHE wanted the baby. seriously! they're married! edward should have a say in what happens to his life, too!
13. the editing! OMG so many errors! people may say this isn't SM's fault...well of course it's her fault. the editors told her they didn't want to edit this book, and they wanted to keep it a trilogy. well, she pushed, and she had all her fan support (well, we weren't supposed to know what was in the book and we EXPECTED IT TO FOLLOW ECLIPSE!)! seriously, she wrote breaking dawn BEFORE nm and eclipse, but since she wrote eclipse, her world had changed, and the characters had matured. bella and edward's relationship was emotionally stronger because of their separation. now, SM had to screw it all up with breaking dawn. nice job, SM. wo. way to go. you seemed so desperate for attention. as bella would say (well she WOULD say as a human while her insecurities still exist) attention is not always a good thing. well at least you got your money. seriously, i was shocked when i was reading her FAQs and she said "i wasn't expecting so much negativity because of the high sales," ...well, how would anyone know what the book is like if they haven't read it, genius? honestly, i had faith in her (a faith she didn't deserve) that she would write breaking dawn better than Jo wrote HP7. well, i like HP7 much better than BD (even tho i like twilight better than HP as a series). breaking dawn to me was like drinking a cup of water and then realizing here was not water in the cup, but only air. it was empty, and it gave me headaches. now, i'm trying really hard to think of breaking dawn as a really disturbing fanfiction. it's ALMOST easy enough, but it's always shocking to see the word "Renesmee" in an actual book. it seems ridiculous. anyways, twilight will always be a trilogy for me. just because i hated this book doesn't mean that i'm not a fan. i still love twilight, but i loved it so much better ending at eclipse. even though i was SLIGHTLY unsatisfied with eclipse, it is nothing compared to breaking dawn. now eclipse is almost catching up to twilight. ALMOST but not quite. SM definitely lost much of the reverence from her MATURE fans. many of the fans who loved breaking dawn either A) are deluding themselves into thinking they like it because they've kept up with the series so long, B) only read the books because edward's a hottie and they finally got their sex, or C) are immature pedophiles who think there is a simple answer to everything and think that you don't have to fight to get a happy ending.
14. now i know this might be getting me started again (i thought i would conclude here) but that made me think of something else - the reason people read this book was because, although it consisted of fantasy creatures such as vampires and werewolves, they had to undergo so much stuggle, it made them seem almost human, unlike most fantasies. breaking dawn seriously showed how silly and immature and out of context SM became. she should have stopped w/ bella's high school life. she should have never gotten near bella's perfect vampire life.

OMG so many errors! people may say this isn’t SM’s fault…well of course it’s her fault. the editors told her they didn’t want to edit this book, and they wanted to keep it a trilogy. well, she pushed, and she had all her fan support (well, we weren’t supposed to know what was in the book and we EXPECTED IT TO FOLLOW ECLIPSE!)! seriously, she wrote breaking dawn BEFORE nm and eclipse, but since she wrote eclipse, her world had changed, and the characters had matured. bella and edward’s relationship was emotionally stronger because of their separation. now, SM had to screw it all up with breaking dawn. nice job, SM. wo. way to go. you seemed so desperate for attention. as bella would say (well she WOULD say as a human while her insecurities still exist) attention is not always a good thing. well at least you got your money. seriously, i was shocked when i was reading her FAQs and she said “i wasn’t expecting so much negativity because of the high sales,” …well, how would anyone know what the book is like if they haven’t read it, genius? honestly, i had faith in her (a faith she didn’t deserve) that she would write breaking dawn better than Jo wrote HP7. well, i like HP7 much better than BD (even tho i like twilight better than HP as a series). breaking dawn to me was like drinking a cup of water and then realizing here was not water in the cup, but only air. it was empty, and it gave me headaches. now, i’m trying really hard to think of breaking dawn as a really disturbing fanfiction. it’s ALMOST easy enough, but it’s always shocking to see the word “Renesmee” in an actual book. it seems ridiculous. anyways, twilight will always be a trilogy for me. just because i hated this book doesn’t mean that i’m not a fan. i still love twilight, but i loved it so much better ending at eclipse. even though i was SLIGHTLY unsatisfied with eclipse, it is nothing compared to breaking dawn. now eclipse is almost catching up to twilight. ALMOST but not quite. SM definitely lost much of the reverence from her MATURE fans. many of the fans who loved breaking dawn either A) are deluding themselves into thinking they like it because they’ve kept up with the series so long, B) only read the books because edward’s a hottie and they finally got their sex, or C) are immature pedophiles who think there is a simple answer to everything and think that you don’t have to fight to get a happy ending.
14. now i know this might be getting me started again (i thought i would conclude here) but that made me think of something else - the reason people read this book was because, although it consisted of fantasy creatures such as vampires and werewolves, they had to undergo so much stuggle, it made them seem almost human, unlike most fantasies. breaking dawn seriously showed how silly and immature and out of context SM became. she should have stopped w/ bella’s high school life. she should have never gotten near bella’s perfect vampire life.

Wow - I am shocked reading these reviews. I thought Breaking Dawn was wonderful and the most perfect way to end the series. I can't believe so many people didn't like it. I've read the whole series twice, but Breaking Dawn three times and each time was better! Anyway, don't believe these reviews, read it for yourself!

I just don't understand how anyone, at least anyone who reads above kindergarten level, could enjoy this book.

I was a huge Meyer fan, not anymore. I don't care if she never wrote anything ever again or became one of the most prolific writers in history, I will never read anything written by her again.

I am beyond disappointed!!

What a pile of crap this book turned out to be. I wish I had spent my money on another Stephen King or Dean Koontz book.

The events in Breaking Dawn were great. Half the stuff that happened took me by surprise but at the same time. It was so disappointing all at the same time especially the end! I expected an all out war or something of that sort. The way she was writing it made it feel like the world was coming to an end if they didn't win then all they did was just blabber on forever. I'm more interested in what Alice and Jasper were doing besides finding more people while it all happened.

Well, I'm an obsessed fan from the start. I've been obsessed with Edward, well who wouldn't? But...there was a part in Breaking Dawn...which I felt I didn't quite like Edward like I did before. In my opinion, it seems like Edward doesn't really care about Renesmee. I felt more closer to Jacob than Edward in Breaking Dawn. Also, I didn't like the love between Edward and Bella in Breaking Dawn. It was as though it was just, sex. It was only the 'physical' stuff that had mattered. I was just utterly shocked when all Bella had wanted was sex.

Seriously, every character in Breaking Dawn was a stranger to me. They were portrayed differently than her previous books and I couldn't get used to it. Edward, THE EDWARD! I even felt a bit differently about him. Well, the only one I could see who hadn't changed was Jacob. The character which I disliked since the previous books, I actually came to love at the end. He DIDN'T changed. In fact, he seemed more like a father than Edward. That was very disappointing. I had higher expectations with Edward.

Near the end, the fight with the Volturi...I got bored to death. I actually read it vaguely first and went to bed. However, the next day, I read it more carefully. Yes, the ending was interlectual, but it was boring. J.K Rowling's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, it was interlectual, but there was alot of suspense and I didn't want to skip ANY of it!

However, I do think that Stephanie Meyer has good ideas and those ideas kept me reading. I still love Edward, but my obsession might've slightly decreased, but I might become delusional and imagine the Edward from Twilight. For Bella, I don't get her in this book. Jacob, I actually understand him and I like him ALOT better. LOL, the only part which I found interesting was the first five chapters and Jacob's point of view. ( I was smiling like an idiot after the wedding)

I agree with you laila, let's pretend that the series stopped at Eclipse. =D

ok.
I never ever thought i would ever say in my whole life that a steph meyer book was crap, but breaking dawn is REALLY REALLY REALLY crap. Everyone in so OOC and there was alot of plot holes. I was hoping for war and stuff (sorry to sound bad but that is what makes a book interesting) and everything felt really rushed and weird because everyone got their happy ending.

The only thing that can make me hate this book more is the fact that one of my friends will NOT stop telling me that i have the "rob" effect and i'll grow to like it (she always quotes steph meyer).

People can always say to me that 'I could never write a book series' and 'how dare i say that BDawn was crap' and 'you're not a true SMeyer fan, or twihard', but that doesn't mean i'll shutup and stop saying how bad i thought this book was, because everyone has their own opinion.

oh well. Let us pretend that the series stopped at eclipse, yeah?

(Spoilers)

Okay, okay, I think a lot of fans who are upset that so many people were disappointed have the wrong idea (or at least, an altered idea) as to WHY we are unhappy with the final book.

I'm pretty sure I speak for many when I say that SM's writing style and her incredibly fantastic and unique idea behind the series has NOTHING to do with our oppinions of the very essential plot to each book. I believe the first three were so popular because they had a perfect balance of romance, drama, and plot twists to keep us all on our toes, at least most of the time.

The fourth most definitely had that balance of romance and drama, but the plot did not seem as smooth and unique. After sifting through some Twilight fanfics earlier this year, before the release of the book, I came to the hopeful conclusion that SM would not follow any of the cliche plotlines of these stories, for in my oppinion they seemed about as predictable as a lightswitch.

First generic plotline: Bella and Edward find a way to, y'know, have sex. Edward is able to control himself because of his powerful and unconditional love for his fiance, and Bella survives because she's the main character.

Second generic plotline: Somehow, even though it goes against a lot of what was mentioned in the previous books, Bella is able to get pregnant. Not much to say there.

Third generic plotline (which follows the second): Bella's baby is born and is the most beautiful baby ever to exist, typically female, with Bella's gorgeous brown eyes and Edward's... gorgeousness. Do you think anyone actually expects the pregnancy to end badly? Slim chance, because everything has to turn out PERFECTLY for the two main characters. I mean, they ARE the protagonists. They DESERVE a happy ending, right?

Fourth generic plotline: Bella becomes a vampire, but is able to skip all the noobie vampire crap about not controlling one's self. Does anyone have any freaking idea how much this has come up? It's what everyone expects, because after all, Bella IS the main character and no one really thinks SM is going to put her through all that drama. I was most unhappy with this, because it made the whole vampire thing horribly, perfectly boring.

Fifth generic plotline: A happy ending. And I know, this may sound harsh, but there is such a thing as overdoing a happy ending. There IS such a thing as keeping everyone alive and the anticipation of lots of future sex and a perfect child and la-dee-da. There DOES exist an ending so annoyingly perfect that we feel almost like the story won't continue, it will actually just END. Right there, ba-bang, at the peak of mount joy. Time stops. Happily ever after. For eternity. A sigh of bliss...

Now don't get me wrong, it's not like I don't LIKE happy endings. I totally love them. But I don't like endings that are "too good to be true," y'know?

There. I've summed up everything that I expected and everything I didn't hope for and everything that happened. Overall, not a good mix for a novel.

But I'd like to end this on something more optimistic: Steph Meyer, you really do rock.

You're definitely one of my favorite authors ever, and you didn't let me down in the least. I'm being completely honest and sarcasm-free when I say this: fantastic ending to the series, but overdone.

That's it. I suppose I could have just said that in the beginning and have been done with it, but serious fans don't seem to completely understand the meaning behind that.

And if you actually read this whole thing, kudos to you!! Lol. :P

It is not an obsession, more of an escape. Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn all made perfect sense to me. As I read in an interview with Stephanie Meyer, many people see Bella as weak and not a good role model for young girls. But as Stephanie explained it maybe she isn't weak at all. Maybe being strong is hoding to who you truly were, and if Bella truly loved Edward, and her baby. Would it not be being herself to want to risk her own life to save theirs? Bella is not weak. She is willing to give the ultimate sacrifice. Her own life. No love could be stronger than that.

I have read all of Stephanie Meyer's books so far-inclding 'The Host' and i think she is a very talented author who is very harshly critisised by alot of Twilights so called 'fans'.
It's amazing to read some of the comments left on forums about Stephanie saying about how much of a fanastic writer she is and how wonderful her books are so far, and how much people idolise her for bringing the twilight series into their lives.
yet now the same people are downing her and wrting things like how they've lost all respect in her and how she's dissapointed them and ruined the whole twilight series for them. It is absolutely ridiculous how people can change their tune so quickly. To be dissapointed in any author is something to be ashamed of, writing any book is a great accomplishment, and a wonderful achievment. I'd like to see these harsh critics try and write a series (or even just a book for that matter)that everyone would enjoy.

It's especially horrible to be disapointed in an author who introduced you into the world of Twilight, something i know that i will always be grateful for.....people shouldn't let an ending they don't agree with 'ruin' a whole 3 other books........

Anyway i thought Breaking Dawn was fantastic! It was my least favourite book of the series but not by much. We all knew that in the end Bella would become a vampire, so there was really no surprises there!!

I don't agree that Bella and Edwards love is lessended in this book at all...they get married!!! um the biggest symbolisation of love there is! also Edward didnt give up on Bella once she'd given birth to Renesmee, he didn't just allow her to die. Also he was willing to give her up, the one person that he truley loves so that she could have a baby!!!! talk about sacrifice. Yes there is quite alot of sex which i do believe could've been eased up on a bit for the younger readers, but they are a married couple and that component was missing for the whole previous part of their relationship.

I'm actually happy that Jacob imprinted on Renesmee, it means that now he and Bella can finally have the right relationship, and Jacob can be happy too! i like the way that Stephanie portrayed the relationship, it wasnt like Jacob wanted her in THAT way. He just plain loved her.
The ending was kinda anti-climax, i was hoping something would happen to the Volturi, it was unfair how they killed Irina but they didn't suffer a loss.....
ummmmm and i was really happy that Bella didnt have to completely abandon Charlie...that would've sucked.....

So all in all i think it was a great ending for a stupendous saga and it's a pity that everyone couldn't be satisfied, well done Stephanie and i can't wait to read Midnight Sun!!!!!

I’m 17 and I liked Twilight when I first read it. I liked New Moon too. But when I reread them and then read Eclipse I wasn’t so sure of myself. I feel completely stupid now that I’ve read Breaking Dawn. I feel guilty for dragging some of my friends into this nonsense. I am waiting for them to
hate me now.

I've read the book, and see how many people are disappointed with it. I too was at some degree. The way SM went with the book I thought was totally unpredictable. But I think she tried to cram too much into one book. Why not make the last unbelieveablly amazing to go along with the other great books? She should of made the last one a two book part and slowed down some, putting more detail into the characters and just everything around them as she did in the previous books. Some of the other important characters were neglected and just not really there to me. Not a whole lot of emotion and personality from them, just the bear minimum. Even though this book didnt meet my standards, I do have to give props to SM for writing fairly well in such a short time. Even more props for trying to make a book everyone would love. Everyone has a different way of picturing whats going on, and their own expectations of how they wanted the book to go. The series was amazing and this book kinda sucked, but all in all, I loved it. Couldnt of asked for anything more, except more from the last book. She wrote something new and exciting, fighting for the high standards from HP Fans, (including me). I loved following Edward and Bella through this book and there life and sad to see it end.

You either hated it or loved it. Simple as that.
And PS: Renesmee? That was the best choice of name?

Loved the book! It was also everything I wished for. SM delivered in a way that the characters could be happy for eternity, without any regrets or looking back as to what they missed. Bella and Edward experienced both heartache and difficulties, however their love remained strong. Jacob's pov was humorous and necessary - Bella was confined to the house. Bella and Edward matured - they had some adult themes to deal with - which is why some people do not like the book. But oh the passion they have!!

I absolutely agree with people's irritation with Bella. Most girls reading the books (and guys too I bet) have found her annoying and lacking much of an independent identity...plus she's incredibly pessimistic, and almost too obsessed with beauty--or the lack thereof (in her case). Though let's be honest, most girls of any age are hyper-aware of beauty and society's standards of beauty, and it eats at most of us more than it should. So Bella's feelings of personal inadequacy, and her awe and jealousy of the ridiculous beauty of characters like Rosalie and Edward is something most ALL women of any age cane relate to on some level. Though yes, Bella overdoes it...she's good at overdramatizing, haha. Also, her self-deprecation and defeatist attitude make you want to strangle her at (more than a few) times.

But I think the point of her being the very-flawed, weaker, obnoxious heroine--instead of the strong, highly likeable one--was essential to the core message of the books. These books carried so many beautiful messages, but above all others was that related to the love between Edward and Bella. It was unswerving, unbounded, ever-expanding, completely consuming, earth-shaking, and most importantly--unconditional--love they had for one another. As the book said, it was a love to rival any in history. And it is that love that redeems even the highly flawed and perpetually obnoxious character of Bella. Her ability to love so powerfully and fully and unendingly is ENOUGH in and of itself. That alone can save a person. Because to love like that is rare, and a person that is capable of loving like that is extraordinary without any other redeeming qualities at all. Saying Edward is too good for Bella is a bit silly, considering she's a 17-year-old, awkward, self-deprecating, reclusive girl who has still yet to figure out really at ALL who she is. While Edward is over 90 years old, living most of that life as a vampire. Talk about a major headstart on character/identity development--seriously, can you imagine how amazing Bella could be given that same time?

All the referrences Stephanie makes to Wuthering Heights were a not-so-subtle way, I think, of beating that message into the readers' heads--that to love so powerfully is alone enough to redeem even the most seemingly unredeemable life. That loving so completely is a feat to rival all others, and it is enough.

Anyway, just a thought. I have no desire to complain about BD. I felt that such a passionate and unconditional love as that between Edward and Bella deserved to get to endure forever. And since that happened, my heart can be happy. It is so nice for those all-consuming loves to once not end up destroying the lovers and all those around them. And it's ok to believe such a love can exist AND that it can survive. I certainly do.

If you're 24 years old and you're not only obsessed with this series but also consider this one to be the best of the bunch, you would really be better off killing yourself. A much better contribution to the general wellbeing of society.
