Another Celebrity DUI
The Celebrity DUI Club is fast growing, and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” star Ty Pennington just applied for a membership.
Pennington was busted by the LAPD Saturday morning, because, just like Paris Hilton, Eve and Busta Rhymes, he was dumb enough to drink and in his case, to be suspected of doing drugs and drive. He plunked five grand for bail and was out two hours later.
And just like fellow drunk David Hasselhoff, Pennington, who was also on the hit TLC show “Trading Spaces”, released a statement about the pitfalls of being drunk.
“I made an error in judgment. We all make mistakes, however this is about accountability. Under no circumstances should anyone consume alcohol while driving. I could have jeopardized the lives of others and I am grateful there was no accident or harm done to anyone. This was my wake-up call. I also want to apologize to my fans, ABC Television and my design team for my lapse in judgment and the embarrassment I have caused.”
I wish celebrity drunks would release statements like this before they get busted, not after. That way, people might believe them.
