Katharine McPhee is an American Pop/R&B singer who is primarily known for her second-place finish in the fifth season of American Idol. Also a theater actress, she has performed in a number of school plays as well as local professional productions of major plays. She also appeared in "Crazy", a 2006 musical film about the life of legendary Nashville gutarist Hank Garland. In 2007, she released her first album, Katharine McPhee, which peaked at No. 2 in the U.S. Billboard charts.
