There’s a disturbing pattern of self-mutilation and death in the modeling industry. Last week, we were sad to report Daul Kim’s tragic suicide in her Paris apartment. Upon further investigation, source believe Daul was plotting suicide for a while now. She wrote this heart-wrenching entry on her blog:
“My life as dual was so miserable and lonely. Please join my loneliness in another world. I love you all” and later adding “KIDDING. I’m fine. Just tired.”
Another form of proof of destruction would be the cutting of oneself; 20-year old Catherine McNeil was recently photographed at an event with dozens, upon dozens of cuts on both of her arms. Her reps tried their damndest to do damage control stating:
“Catherine has nothing to cover up or hide - she fell off her skateboard into some bushes.”
Along with diminishing people’s self-esteem, the industry should provide some psychological services for these young souls. So sad…Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of Daul Kim and Catherine McNeil.
