Madonna Offered to Just Pay for Child
Madonna is on a carazee media blitz about adopting David, the Malawian orphan. In her interview on Dateline NBC, she told Meredith Vieira that when she met Yohane Banda, David’s father, she offered to simply financially support David but Yohane declined her offer. From People Mag:
“When I met (Yohane), I said I would be happy to … to bring (David) back to your village and help you financially raise him,” the singer tells Vieira in the interview, which was also scheduled to continue on Dateline NBC. “And he said, ‘No.’ … I think he truly felt in his heart of hearts that – and who knows if he was telling me the truth – that he would have a better life with me. So, when he said no, that was my sign that it was my responsibility to look after him.”
That’s so…weird. “Hey, I’ll just give you money to raise your own child even though you totally can’t afford it and I totally want him.” “No, that’s cool, I don’t really want him.” Ok, clearly that’s not how it played out, but this story just keeps getting weirder and weirder. Also, what’s with the media blitz? You don’t see Angie Pants going door to door explaining to people why she’s trying to build a UN softball team. [Source]
