Skateboarders and snowboarders unite! DC Shoes, an X-Game friendly footwear company based out of Vista, CA, was founded in 1993 and makes sneakers and gear specifically for skateboarders and snowboarders. DC Shoes was founded by Ken Block and Damon Way (who happens to be the brother of professional skateboarder, Danny Way). The company was initially called "Eightball," but then... there was this guy who apparently already had a company called "Eightball"... and then there were a lot of legal-esque letters... Ken and Damon didn't like legal-esque letters... so then they changed the name of the company to Droors Clothing, which initially created t-shirts that spoofed famous ads. Fast forward, fast forward, fast forward - DC Shoes originally stood for Droors Clothing Shoes. Now, Droors clothing is deeefunct, and DC Shoes is the final product. Obviously DC Shoes makes shoes - that's like asking Pamela Anderson if she has boobs. However, in addition to shoes for men, women, children, and toddlers, DC Shoes also manufactures a whole line of clothing including jeans, accessories, bags, beanies, hats, and t-shirts. The company often uses the numbers 43 and 07 on their clothing designs, and apparently that is because the "4" and the "3" represent the letters "D" and "C." Oh, and you guessed it, the "07" is the sum of the two. Creeeeaytive. The company is also very involved in the developing interactive world by producing its own podcasts, online video, and skating videos. One of their most popular videos is called "The DC Video," and it features Danny Way skating the "DC Mega Ramp." The "Mega Ramp" is essentially a series of humongo skateboarding ramps. I can only imagine the kind of cajones it takes to tackle those things.
