At home DNA testing will not stand up in court, on top of that you really have to know what process the company uses(either electropherisis/PCR) and how many alleles the company tests. All of these factors will effect the outcome of the test. If you need results that can be used in court, you need to use a facility that will follow a strict chain of custody collection. Your best bet is to call someone who actually knows the process, one such place is Any Lab Test Now. located in Durham NC (919)321-4355 call them you won't be disappointed.

DNA testing is easy and a very simple process. It is just a swab of the inside of the cheek. It only takes a few minutes and with technology constantly improving, the testing keeps getting more and more inexpensive. Stay away from the do-it-yourself kits you can perform at home and send in. There is too much risk on mixing the dna on the swab if not collected in a sterile facility by a person trained to collect and wearing gloves. Dont forget, if you need it to stand up in court for any reason, custody or child support, make sure to tell them you need a chain of custody paternity test. That is the only one that will stand up in court. The ads you see online that offer test you can do at home and they will stand up in court are false. IT WILL NOT STAND UP IN COURT IF DONE AT HOME! And, of course, make sure the lab is certified!
