Another American Idol Sex Scandal!

Remember Mario Vasquez, that American Idol Season Four finalist who voluntarily dropped out of the finals for reasons unknown? Well, he said he quit for “family reasons”, but no further explanation was given, and people just kinda forgot about him.
Now we know why, if a suit filed by a male employee of the show is to be believed.
Vasquez is now being sued for “sexually harassing” Magdaleno Olmos, assistant accountant for Fremantle Media, the company that produces American Idol. I’ll let TMZ recount the details, because writing about it makes me wanna throw up:
In the lawsuit, Olmos claims “Vazquez stared lasciviously, smiled lasciviously … and on one occasion followed him into a bathroom … knocked on the door of the plaintiff’s stall and made eye contact through the space in the stall door.”
The lawsuit alleges that Vazquez “started to rub his genitals over his pants. Attempting to leave the bathroom, Olmos opened the door of the stall and saw Vazquez standing in front of him with his pants down masturbating.”
According to the documents, Vazquez pushed Olmos “further into the stall and continued masturbating with one hand and trying to pull down Olmos’ pants with another hand.”
Olmos claims that he tried to “cover his body with his hands” but Vazquez touched his “chest and stomach underneath his shirt, and Olmos’ “genitals” as Vazquez “attempted to unzip” Olmos’ pants.
Vazquez then allegedly asked Olmos “if he wanted oral sex.”
Gaah, I can’t even go on. What the hell is wrong with these people? If American Idol has staff who do background checks on contestants before they start to compete, they sure suck at their jobs. Thieves, wife-beaters, porn models, con men, attention whores, and of course, perverts tend to make it to the show. But then again, aren’t they the ones who make the show great?
Anyway, Olmos tried to report the incident to a superior named Eric LaPointe, but this guy just told him he was basically nuts and threatened to fire him. Which is what exactly happened a few months later, Olmos claims.
Let’s see what Simon Cowell has to say about this.
