Beyonce The Cheapskate
Beyonce is talented, Beyonce is great. She is bootylicious, but also a cheapskate. That is, if we believe what TMZ had to say about how the overshadowed Dreamgirl pays peanuts to dancers working on her videos.
We’re told that by eliminating the middleman and dealing directly with the dancers, Beyonce can pay them below standard wages. Industry contacts say this practice is highly irregular for an artist of Beyonce’s stature, and it undermines the dance industry as a whole.
If this is true, then shame on you, Beyonce. Their booties may not be as full and well-rounded as yours, but they are hardworking booties just the same. And hardworking booties should be given what is due them.
Somehow, I can smell Matthew Knowles’ stink in this. He’s been responsible for every single move in Beyonce’s career, and this has “Daddy” written all over it. He and Joe Simpson should form a club or something.
