Look, you all are not realizing that things don’t always go as planned. Maybe she thought that she wouldn’t wind up pregnant and she is happy with what she is going through. I personally don’t think that it is a mistake if she keeps the baby. The fact is that if she wants the kid and she does keep it, then that is totally her decision. NOT OURS!! So leave her alone and let her live her life. The thing is she will just experience motherhood at an earlier age than expected by the people around the US and other places. And if she really cared what everyone else thought of her then she would have denied it when she was asked about it, but she didn’t. So get off her back.

The fact that people think this is ok just says the state this nation’s social and moral stand is. Its NOT ok to be pregnant at 16, your only duty as a teen is to get an education and better urself so u can have a better life! Now a days with all the crap on tv it seems to be “cool” to have babies as such young ages.There is no “age of innocence” anymore. Most of the teens nowadays have had more experience than women in their 20s, and thats sad. To think that they are not worth more and think that by opening their legs they can get what they want and feel good about it is the type of mentality that is invading young minds nowadays. The fact is that Jamie will not be a good role model to teens who are in fact being raised the right way, with morals and self respect. I feel sad of the fact that their mother is more concerned with making money off this teens pregnancy. So as a society we have to make teens more aware and respect themselves more instead of thinking with their legs open!

The fact that she’s so young is troublesome, however she does have the financial means to support a baby. Even so, shes still a kid and doesn’t have the emotional capacity to care for a child and be completelly selfless for her child- she probably isn’t even sure who she is yet…Even if Jamie gets through, her kid might not. Having a young mom can cause numerous family problems.
The fact that she’s sexually active isn’t really a concern anyway…at least if she’s being smart about it (condoms, birth control, testing, monogomy etc). If I was her, I’m not sure what I’d do…She needs to make a conscious decision on her part about whether she wants this baby or not…she shouldn’t just have it just because she’s pregnant.
If she doesn’t want the baby, shes not ready and shouldn’t be forced to have it. It’ll only make the experience, her life and her baby’s life miserable.

Okay, honestly i think that Jamie Lynn Spears is a beautiful girl, we are the same age. I dont see a problem with her dating an older guy at all. I just feel that she should have been a little more careful since they were obviously having sex. She should have also taken into consideration that her sister has had 2 or 3 kids by a drug dealing looking ugly guy and people have been talking about her awfully for that. I am 25 and I have a wonderful family. I have a 7 year old and a 3 year old and a fabulous husband and life. I have 2 college degrees and am working on my 3rd. I don’t appreciate the way some people just assume that becuase people are young they are not capable of taking care of a child. I know plenty of adults who aren’t good parents, age does not make you a less horrible person. My children a VERY well taken care of and always have been. I have not missed out on anything in my life because I had my daughter at an early age. People make mistakes, some bigger than others but it happens to everyone!

For anyone out there, yes, she has no choice but to keep the baby; the poor child would be stalked forever. Although she obviously has enough money to support her baby, I don’t think that she really should have gotten pregnant. For some people, I’m sure that’s fine, but for me, she should’ve grown up first, maybe married the guy, settled down, made a good movie, and started a family. It’s not RESPONSIBLE. She’s probably a nice girl who wanted a baby, or maybe it was an accident, but I only think that she should’ve waited. (And yes, I know that there are many people out there who are 16 and pregnant.) Because she is in the spotlight she is supposed to be a role model, especially because she is on Zoey 101 and girls look up to her. If they start to think getting pregnant young and having sex is cool, who knows what will happen?
For now, though, I only have one question: How will they work this into the story line on her TV show??

Being addicted to drugs and refusing help isn’t Ok. Flashing your private body parts to the entire planet isn’t Ok. Driving drunk isn’t Ok, and driving drunk with children in the car is almost attempted homocide. Running into parked cars and trying to leave the scene of an accident isn’t Ok. Having a child at 15 or 16 or even 17 isn’t Ok. That’s the difference between children and grown-ups. Children are immature and think all of the wrong stuff is awesome, cool, and Ok. I know I did when I was young and immature. But grown-ups have to leave the world a better place than what they found it, they have to make the tough decisions, and they have to look at how bad decisions affect everybody. We, as grown-ups, have to look at the BIG picture. The Spears family has made a mockery of family values, making poor choice after poor choice, refusing to see that their behavior has an impact on their fans and followers. And this changes society. So as grown-ups, we can’t afford to think that irresponsible behavior is awesome, cool, and Ok, because if we do, we’ll ALL live in a self-made, white-trash trailer park, from sea to shining sea.

First of all, for all the kids reading this and think the media is being unfair, you should read more than gossip columns. JAMIE LYNN WAS THE ONE WHO EXPOSED HER STORY to a TABLOID mag for a million dollars. So SHE put herself in the media not the other way around.
Secondly, by getting pregnant before being married (never mind the age factor), she is going against everything the CHURCH SHE MET HER BOYFRIEND IN preaches. Which makes her not only a sinner and heretic in the eyes of anyone “holy”, but also makes her a hypocrite for even going.
Now don’t get me wrong…I KNOW the kids are having sex at younger and younger ages. This does not mean it’s ok to have irresponsible sex. Hell it’s not even ok for most SUPPOSED adults, ESPECIALLY if they claim to be religious. Just because it’s happening doesn’t make it right or do you kids believe the Iraq War is ok…especially considering you might find yourselves going in a few years…And please don’t start with “those are two different things”. It’s an analogy.
Lastly, as she was the one who went to the tabloids with the news, it seems she may have gotten pregnant for the expressed purpose of gaining publicity. THAT IS SAD. What is sadder is looking at the comments on this page and realizing that we have failed our youth when they think having a child by “accident” at 16, is ok. It’s irresponsible, nothing more…nothing less.

You know what, I think the fact that she is pregnant isnt the greatest, but atleast she is taking responsibility for it. She isnt getting an abortion like she could, she isnt giving the baby up just because its easier, she is taking responsibility for her actions and keeping the baby.
She is in the public eye and actually setting an example for teenage girls weather you see it or not. She is showing girls that there is a price to pay for having sex before marriage. Shes not showing teens that we can have sex and not worry about it. The media does that alone, but shes fighting the set image.
And for all of you who want to compare her to Brittany. Youre insane. She isnt like her sister. No ifs ands or buts about it. Brittany was always the way she is today, she must have lost her meds or something and it finally started really showing or something like that. But Jamie is much better then that.

As for you MeganDuck…I get where this can become a personal issue for you and many young ladies in general. I LOVE SEX. Personally I’ve been having sex since I was 11 (not that I had ANY idea of what I was doing or that it was even called sex), but I had the good fortune not to impregnate any of the girls I was with BEFORE I realized what the consequences were. Even when I did, I had a couple of pregnancy “scares” afterwards. So yes, “shit happens” and sometimes no matter what you do it’s unavoidable. However, WHAT IF Jamie got pregnant on purpose just to get her own spotlight? Would you condone that?
Another thing, especially now that you have a child…do you think there ever would have been the Britney Spears as we know her if SHE had gotten pregnant at 16? You of all people should know how hard it is to take care of a baby in itself, much less try to have a career.
That said, I AM proud of you for having the baby at all and I’m sure you’re going to be an excellent mother. However, the reason “old folks” get upset is because we know something you couldn’t possibly fully understand yet…life may be hard for you now, but trust me…IT DOESN’T GET EASIER. Hopefully you and your child will reach the age where you will get that…and I can almost guarantee when you do, you will be praying your child will wait. It’s not that you don’t have the capacity to be a good mom, it’s that you’d hopefully be a better mom when you got older.

However i can’t judge because i put myself in this situation. Shes saying that she can’t judge those who have sex before marriage and so on because she did it herself and thats just being a hypocryte. Not only that but shes sayin gthat they should wait. Shes not encouraging people to get pregnant, but shes taking responsibility for her own actions.
Third, just because she got pregnant young doesn’t make her white trailer trash. honestly, there are millions of teenage pregnancies in the world and its wrong but shit happens. Well, I don’t have anything bad to actually say. I’m 17 and I’m 11 weeks pregnant, so we’ll be having our babies around the same time. Yeah it’s the best news in the world, but ey what are people going to do?…all they going to do is talk their shit cuz they aint got anothing better to say and thank God your parents are behind you Jamie because mine aren’t and I can finish hs I have to go get a GED which sucks, but having a baby isn’t the end of the world and a beginning of a new life with lots of love. Jamie did make some wrong choices but it doesnt mean shes a bad person like her sister her sister made bad chocies but is not a horrible person. Jamie will probably regret that she did it at an inappropriate age. No body made the decision for her she did it herself. Leave her alone . She maybe she made a mistake maybe she wanted the kind. You guys have no real proof that shes turning out like britney. Shes 16 thats legal in some states. At least shes old enough to know what shes getting herself into. Theirs 13 year olds having kids every day. You guys arent talking about them on here.

She deserves everything she gets, the baby, the teenage failure of a life, and everything that comes with teenage pregnancy. If you know what I mean by that. I’m 13 years old and I realize that I’m not having sex until I get married, so why can’t a 16 year old realize that??? Because she’s stupid, and has the common sense God gave to a rock. She will end up just like her sister will, old, alone, lonely, desperate, drugged, and stupid as H*LL! Yes I am 13, I don’t cuss either, so I starred it out. I’ve had alot of life experience though too, but that doesn’t change the fact that she’s 17 now and has a baby. Personally, I thought she was HOT but now that she had a baby, I don’t respect her as a person, now she’s ugly inside and out to me. That’s my opinion on the whole matter overall.
