Christina Applegate’s lesbian wedding

Christina Applegate had a same-sex romance a decade when she “wed” a girlfriend in Las Vegas “prove a point about the whole marriage thing, and how the bond between two women surpasses the bond between two men.”
“We got married at a club one Vegas night, and we took it very seriously - rings, rice, the whole bit.”
But she insists the relationship was not sexual: “We’re not like that. We’re like the two most heterosexual women who ever lived.”
Since then she married Johnathon Schaech, whom she subsequently divorced.

this is the stupid crap that takes away from the validity of the equality movement. I support her right to have a lesbian wedding, but NO wedding should be entered into jokingly. It is a serious and beautiful gift that should be treasured. For those of us who are unable to marry the person that we love the most in the world, who we choose to have a family and a home with…it is pathetic to watch a strong, smart women, such as Christina Applegate, mock that which we fight for and are discriminated against because of.

Shay chill. True they might not have been sexually attracted to each other but people marry for many reasons. Just because someone’s reason for being married is different than yours doesn’t mean its wrong. Marriage means what you think it means. It is also a system the government uses for granting priveliges. I’m not trying to undermine popular belief that marriage is this institution to declare true love, I’m just saying that if you think that’s what it is, then maybe it wouldn’t mean as much to you if you had the government’s respect or not. Oh, and I have a feeling she married her friend to say she’d rather be with her than wasting time with someone she didn’t love. Then she found true love and changed her definition of marriage from this life long bond to someone, to a life long love bond with someone. This isn’t such a big deal. Stop making up rules for other people based on your beliefs. Isn’t that why you’re pissed of Shay?
