Colbert wins NASA Contest

NASA had an online contest to name a new room in the international space station. NASA allowed the public to vote for the best name for the room. They also allowed write-ins.

Comedian Stephen Colbert asked the viewers of his show,”The Colbert Report,” to write in his name. His viewers did what he asked and he got 230,539 votes. The second place name which was a NASA choice was Serenity which got 40,000 votes. According to the AP,

NASA reserves the right to choose an appropriate name. Agency spokesman John Yembrick said NASA will decide in April, but will give top vote-getters “the most consideration.”

That doesn’t seem fair. They tell people to vote for a new name but in the end NASA still makes the final decision. What a load of crap! Colbert won fair and square.
