D.A. drops Lohan’s felony charges
The L.A. County District Attorney filed criminal charges against
Lindsay Lohan
…and they’re all misdemeanors.
According to the D.A.’s filing, there were no felony charges because the cocaine that was seized was “below the .05 grams required by office policy for felony filing.”
If the felonies were filed, the maximum penalty could have been several years in prison. According to TMZ, the minimum penalty for the current charges would be four days in prison.
Says a law enforcement source: “Prosecutors in this county see a lot of kids in crisis. There are lots of kids struggling with addiction. The first sign of trouble usually involves a car. We’re not going to throw every one of them in prison. It doesn’t make sense.”
I think it makes sense in Lohan’s case. How many of you are sick and tired seeing this drunken mess constantly in the news? Lock her up for our sake.
