Dan Rather Sues CBS for $70 Million
Dan Rather has filed a $70 million lawsuit against his former employer, CBS Corp.
He is bitter over his firing which was the result of uncorroborated allegations about President Bush’s service in the Air National Guard. Rather accuses CBS of committing fraud with its “biased” investigation that “seriously damaged his reputation.”
Sure CBS may have screwed up, but is Rather’s reputation worth $70 million? Doubtful.
The network isn’t too worried. According to a CBS spokesperson: “These complaints are old news and this lawsuit is without merit.”
