Dark Knight has Good Night
“The Dark Knight” walked away with top honors at Wednesday night’s People’s Choice Awards. The movie won five awards including favorite movie, favorite cast, favorite action movie, favorite superhero (Christian Bale as Batman/Bruce Wayne) and favorite on screen match-up (Christian Bale and Heath Ledger).
All five awards were presented at the same time. Christian Bale exclaimed: “Here’s to Heath” after accepting the award, to thank his co-star who died of an accidental drug overdose on January 22, 2008.
Carrie Underwood also scored big by winning the awards for favorite female country singer and favorite country song for her hit “Last Name.” “Dancing With the Stars” beat “American Idol” for favorite reality TV show.
This was the 35th year for the People’s Choice Awards as it was created back in 1975 by producer Bob Stivers.
