Helen Mirren To Star In National Treasure Sequel
Now this is what I call cashing in on an Oscar.
Helen Mirren, Oscar winner and the elegant and sexy star of many a brilliant film, tv and stage production, is to appear in the sequel to the 2004 Nicolas Cage hit National Treasure.
Dame Helen is set to play Emily Gates, the mother of Nicolas Cage’s character, Benjamin Gates. It is said that she’ll be helping her son solve a new set of mysteries that involve Abraham Lincoln, his assassin John Wilkes Booth, and another group called the Knights of the Gold Circle
While the first movie was a fun ride, it was mediocre at best. But with the presence of the superb Mirren and a villainous turn by Ed Harris, the sequel, officially called National Treasure: The Book of Secrets, might just be fun and snappy at the same time. Not exactly on the same level as Mirren’s previous work, but it’s a huge production and a sure-fire hit, and that means well-deserved big bucks for Dame Helen.

Didn’t take her long to cash-in and sell out but then again money talks. The first was a crap film trying to forget how the US took the country from its rightful owners.
