Hilary Duff Taking Publicity Tips from a Five Year Old
See, this is what happens when people think they are smart and attempt to come up with their own PR spins. New reports are surfacing that the real reason behind Joel Madden and Hilary Duff’s break-up is that his “bad boy” image didn’t mesh well with her “good girl” image. This all, apparently, surfaced while she was working with the folks over at Barbie. Essentially, Barbie ain’t allowed to have a tatted up “rocker” boyfriend. The term “rocker” is, of course, up for debate.
Back when Hilary was working closely with the Barbie people to develop the doll, the issue of how important her good-girl image is came up. Hilary was reminded that she must be a good role model for all those little girls buying dolls. Certain people worried about her boyfriend Joel’s rockstar-punk image. Finally the Barbie makers brought up the subject of making a ‘boyfriend” doll for Hilary’s doll - like Ken is to Barbie. But they realized they couldn’t make a tattooed pierced rocker doll of Joel, so they dropped the idea. Not long after that, Hilary dropped Joel.
That would have been disastrous to make a Ken-Joel. As if a real tattoo with your beefry’s name isn’t bad enough of a curse, tattoo a doll that will forever be…there…and can’t be surgically removed. [Source]
