Jennifer Hudson Vogue Cover

I was one of the many people who were excited by the news that standout Dreamgirl Jennifer Hudson has made it to the cover of Vogue. Making the feat all the sweeter is that she’s the first African-American singer to do so.
Then I saw the cover, and all I could think was, WTF was Anna Wintour thinking when she picked these photos for publication?
Vogue is supposed to be all about glamour, right? Then glamour must have taken a vacation when these pics were taken. They’re so damn awful, and there’s nothing glamorous about the way the American Idol castoff looks in these photos. Just one look at that open mouth makes me think she was really hungry during the photoshoot at the Apollo Theater and mistook photographer Annie Leibovitz’s camera lens for a hotdog or a burger.
The Vogue queen beeyotch must have really hated putting a full-figured girl on the cover, so she just picked the worst photos of Jennifer to publish so she won’t have to do it again in the future.

[…] Lets see, Jennifer has won a Golden Globe, a SAG award, the BAFTA, and is all set to get this year’s Oscar for making Beyoncé sound like a pipsqueak by comparison in Dreamgirls, Jennifer’s first and only movie. Over the years, Beyoncé has been regarded as some sort of a “style icon” and mama Tina Knowles thinks of herself as some kind of fashion designer, but it’s Jennifer who has made it to the cover of Vogue, the first African-American singer to achieve the feat. hell ya.
I’ve been reading vogue for 20 years and whenever they put a woman of color on it’s big news.
not only is jen hudson a great american icon because she was just like the rest of us before discovered on american idol, and besides she’s a full figured woman, but she also shoots down the beyoncee diva mentality……beyoncee’s never been on vogue!

That picture is truly unflattering & it is clear that this isn’t an ordinary Vogue issue. An issue for beauty, elegance, sophistication, & prestige. But rather the “biggest spring issue ever” & “over the top”.
However, I’m not particularly charmed with Jennifer’s “talent” or appearance. The ability to carry a tune & pretend to be upset isn’t as rare as the common person thinks.
She’s just another pop goldmine, & may become a celebrity if she can live up to “Dream Girls”. Image, PR, Make-Up, Smoke, & Mirrors.
I know everyone wishes to run & bow to anything vaguely new in this day & age. But America doesn’t really need another fat role model (not to say they need another anorexic one).
