Jessica Alba will only speak Spanish to her baby
Jessica Albasays she plans to speak to her baby in Spanish exclusively.
The problem? Jessica doesn’t know Spanish.
“I wish to God that my dad spoke Spanish to my brother and me, but he didn’t grow up with it.”
“Hopefully I can pick it up because I want my kids to speak Spanish. I don’t even want them to speak English for maybe the first two to three years, until pre-school.”
“We’re in the United States so they’re going to learn it anyway.”

Girl, you’re just being part of the problem. This IS the United States of AMERICA… Enough with speaking spanish. Speak ENGLISH. If you want your kids to speak nothing but Spanish, then move to Mexico (or, well, Spain…)

Jager stfu u biatch, everyone has the right to speak whatever the fucking language they want, why don’t we all speak Native American languages then asshole since this is the USA?
No wonder America is so ignorant, i mean this is the same country where the majority of the voters believe Biblical fairy tales to be literally true, so we can’t expect any better despite years of research showing that multilingualism is beneficial, people in Europe learn multiple languages (eg: Switzerland) or even in Canada where French has official language status along with English and they have not broken up.

Thank god someone is trying to step outside the box. just understand that it is highly possible that you may never loose your accent when you are speaking Spanish. You will always have a bit of your native language with you at the age that you are. Also, there is a possibility you may never become comeplety fluent. I think that you should do it though.

I think its stupid when people say “OH! no! she shouldnt do that. This is America, english should be the only language spoken here, That will be susch a DISADVANTAGE to her child!” WRONG!! I say YOU shouldnt speak if you arent even bilingual, or havent been in that situatrion, when you didnt speak english when you started school. Most people dont realize that when you are a child, your brain isnt like an adult much slower. It takes like what, one year and a half to know the whole language. And how would it be a disadvantage when the first year in school”kindergarten” your not doing such things as writing, homework, etc. All you do is go to school, play and take naps. So basically a kid that doesnt know english wouldnt be behind. While they are taking a nap, playing, abc;s, theyll be learning english between those activities pretty fast. And i should know because I came to America not knowing english as most of my family did and it was NOT a DISADVANTAGE. More like an advantage because now at days they hire more bilingual speaking people.
