Keanu Reeves Runs Photog Down
Knocking paparazzo down with their cars seems to have become some sort of a fad among celebrities nowadays.
Less than a week after Lindsay Lohan hit a papparazo with her car, Keanu Reeves was apparently inspired by Lohan’s derring-do and did the same thing in Rancho Palos Verdes yesterday, running down with his Porsche a photographer who was trying to take his picture.
“Apparently the pedestrian was a paparazzi who was standing in front of his car taking flash pictures,” said sheriff’s Lt. Greg Ahn of the Lomita Sheriff’s station.
The incident occurred at 7:30 p.m. In the 30100 block of Avenida Tranquila. Ahn said that Reeves was leaving a residence when the photographer tried to take his picture with a flash as he pulled his car from a parking space parallel to the curb.
“He was trying to inch forward,” Ahn said. “The front bumper bumped into him. He fell to the ground.” [Source]
It is not yet known what type of injuries the paparazzi suffered, but I’m pretty sure that the inevitable lawsuit will include everything from broken bones to broken ego.
This is the other side of this developing trend. Celebrities hit paparazzo with their cars, and more paparazzo will be crowding around celebrity vehicles hoping to get hit hard enough to merit a story and a lawsuit. It’s a vicious cycle, really.
