MacGyver is our hero
Eighties television character MacGyver beat out Indiana Jones, James Bond and Jack Bauer as the fictional hero most Americans would want by their side in the event of a disaster.
Don Cooke, senior vice president for the firm that conducted the survey, was delighted MacGyver came out on top.
“I love MacGyver. You could give him a sock and a piece of string and he could somehow create electricity for the whole city,” he said.
The results:
MacGyver - 27%
Indiana Jones - 16%
John McClane (Die Hard) - 14%
James Bond - 8%
Jason Bourne - 8%
Lara Croft - 7%
Jack Bauer - 7%
