Michael Vick Says He Was Not Involved In Virginia Beach Shooting
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback
Michael Vick
says that he was not involved in a shooting incident that occurred in Virginia Beach stating:
“I want to assure everyone that I had nothing to do with that incident. I left the restaurant prior to it occurring and did not witness what happened.”He also said that he’s been “completely truthful and fully cooperative” with the authorities and the NFL while the investigation continues. Vick still hasn’t been ruled out as a person of interest though.
The police have not formally identified the shooting victim, but Vick’s attorney says it was Quanis Phillips, a co-defendant in Vick’s dogfighting case.
Vick’s story is that he left the establishment at least 10 or 20 minutes before the shooting took place, but Allen Fabijan, spokesman for Guadalajara Mexican restaurant and nightclub, says he has video that shows otherwise.
A surveillance camera showed Vick leaving at 2:07 a.m. heading in the direction of the shooting and at 2:10 patrons can be seen ducking for cover. The authorities received the call about the shooting at 2:11.
Mr. Vick for your sake, I hope you are telling the truth.
