A donation to the DC Humane Society does not give a dog a life long home nor does it save any animals' lives. I now have a wonderful Coon Cat and donate money, food and other items to the shelter. A Water dog is a good choice as they are hypo-allergenic. I do wish they were able to find one at the shelter but the dog is being re-homed. Hopefully they will donate generously to the DC shelter. I have always gone to the local no-kill shelter for cats.
