Project Runway Update: Holy Sewing Scandal Batman!

Heeeeyo! Who saw Project Runway last night? Well, if you don’t want to know what happens, stop reading…right…now.

So my favey fave Tim Gunn goes to visit the four finalists at home to take a looksey at their collections in progress. Michael Knight is in Atlanta, GA and his collection is like hip-hop goes on safari. Tres glam, tres bling - tres tacky if you ask my opinion. Jeffrey Sebelia is in Los Angeles and we finally get to meet Harrison Detroit of the humongous gaudy neck tattoo fame. I must say, he’s adorable. Jeffrey’s partner, Melanie, is a little scary looking on the other hand. There’s something about metal and a mohawk that isn’t so warm and cuddly - not that there’s anything wrong with that. Uli is down in Miami being inspired by the ocean, and trees, and colors oh my. She tells us that growing up in East Germany, everything was so dark…so grey…and always watched Miami Vice and thought - now that town, that’s for me. I mean, I can’t disagree with her, but there’s something so pot of gold about this story…

And then my favorite house visitee, Laura Bennett. I’m not saying she’s my fave contestant, but…her youngest son offerred Tim Gunn turtle poop. And he squeeled. And the whole thing made me so happy. She really has a lot of children. And her and her husband have the same teeth. And that is weird.

Anyhoo, so there is mega-drame in this ep when Laura accuses Jeffrey of having outside sewing help in finishing up his collection. I firmly believe that everyone should be innocent until proven guilty, however - he does have, like, ten times as many pieces as the others with incredible detailing, and his studio in LA looked way too big to be just for him to sew by himself. Now on the flip side, he has never had trouble coming up with concept, so he probably did take the full two months to design and sew whereas the others took a few weeks to conceptualize.

I just don’t know what’s gonna happen, but I can’t wait to see what makes Jeffrey cry…ok, bawl…in next week’s episode. I think he should be able to show at Olympus. What do you think? Let’s discuss…
