Richard Gere To Be Arrested For Shetty Kiss
Now this is getting ridiculous.
A warrant has been issued for Richard Gere’s arrest after he playfully hugged, kissed and dipped Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty onstage during an HIV/AIDS awareness event in the Indian capital of New Delhi earlier this month.
Judge Dinesh Gupta issued the warrant in response to a complaint filed by three overzealous and probably never-laid-before citizens. He declared, upon reviewing a video of the PDA between Gere and Shetty, that what they did was “highly sexually erotic” and “transgressed all limits of vulgarity.”
On top of the arrest warrant, the judge also wants Shetty to explain to him in his court on May 5 why she didn’t resist the advances of Gere, who could face up to three months in prison, a fine or both if he’s found guilty of public obscenity.
Surely Gere isn’t stupid enough to go back to India and face the charges. What’s next then, a fatwa or something similar in Hindi culture? Sheesh, they sure are pretty uptight about sex. I wonder how they made their country the second most populous nation in the world. Cloning machines, perhaps?

I agree, the irony of officials from India (world’s second most populous nation) being shocked at such behaviour is pretty funny!
Apparently number one on the list (China) also has a culture very intolerant of public displays of affection.
