Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Beyonce Knowles have decided to show the world that they are truly married. They have decided to hyphenated their last names to Knowles-Carter. A source close to the couple says:
Am I the only one wondering why did Beyonce’s name have to be first in this hyphenation?“They want to keep Knowles because Bey’s parents didn’t have any sons and they’re keen to keep the name going strong, especially if they don’t produce any sprogs themselves. Or if they end up just having girls.”

The females name is always the first one when hyphenating because she usually takes the mans name.
