Simon Regrets Saying Things on Idol…Sometimes
While Sharon Osbourne remains, in my book, the rudest, most obnoxious and most foul-mouthed reality show judge of all time, there’s no question that Simon Cowell comes in a close second, although he does his bit with a bit more finesse. And, you gotta admit, he’s a lot funnier too when he lobs insults like it’s as natural as breathing.
But surprise, surprise: Simon says there were times when he regrets the things he says on the show.
Yeah right. That expression of regret is just as sincere as his infamous “I don’t want to be rude, but…” line on the show, delivered mere seconds after shredding the dreams, and oftentimes the dignity, of the people who are either brave enough—or delusional enough, take your pick—to audition, believing they’ve got the talent to make it through to the next round.“We’ve never tried to censor this show and there are times, trust me, I watch and wish I’d never said things,” he said, but noted that in the end, “I feel more comfortable being on a show where we show the warts as well as the good things.” [
