Stephen Colbert announces run for White House
Stephen Colbert announced his candidacy for president on “The Colbert Report,” tossing his satirical hat into the ring.
“I shall seek the office of the president of the United States,” Colbert said on his show.
He is planning on running solely in South Carolina — his home state.
According to the New York Times, he was apparently serious enough that his staff reached out to the state’s Democratic and Republican committees in advance of his announcement.
Colbert said he will run as both a Democrat and Republican: “I can lose twice.” He claimed three running mate possibilities: Colbert-Huckabee, Colbert-Putin or Colbert-Colbert.”

Colbert for President! I love the guy and even though he’s wacky and wierd, he’d be better than any of the other candidates.
