Marval Entertainment has delayed the debut of its superhero movies.

“The Avengers” will be delayed almost a year from July 15, 2011 to May 4, 2012. “Thor” will be released on June 17, 2011 instead of July 16, 2010. “The First Avenger: Captain America” will be released on July 22, 2011 instead of May 16, 2011. “Iron Man 2″ will be released as scheduled on May 7, 2010.

According to the
AP
:

The new schedule “maximizes the visibility of our single character-focused films, leading to the highly anticipated release of the multi-character ‘The Avengers,’” said David Maisel, chairman of Marvel Studios, in a statement.

Marvel has also confirmed that “Spiderman 4″ will hit theaters on May 6, 2011. I can’t wait for this one to come out!
