The Most Expensive Celebrity Divorces
This is one list no celebrity would ever want to make it to, much less top.
Forbes released Thursday a top 10 list of the costliest celebrity divorces ever, and boy, just looking at the figures already made my right eye twitch.
And the top guy? No one else but basketball’s all-time top guy, Michael Jordan. His divorce from his wife of almost 18 years, Juanita Vanoy, is still pending, but Jordan could end up coughing up over $150 million to settle the whole thing.
Then there’s singer Neil Diamond, whose estimated $150 million settlement with ex-wife Marcia Murphy lands him in second place. The only other celebrity divorcee to shell out at least a hundred million bucks, and therefore merit third place, is director and producer Steven Spielberg, who paid Amy Irving approximately that amount so he can get it on with Kate Capshaw.
Rounding up the top ten are:
4. Harrison Ford - $85 million, to Melissa Mathison
5. Kevin Costner - $80 million, to Cindy Silva
6. Paul McCartney - $60 million, to Heather Mills (pending)
7. James Cameron - $50 million, to Linda Hamilton
8. Michael Douglas - $45 million, to first wife Diandra
9. Lionel Richie - $20 million, to second wife Diane
10. Mick Jagger - $15-25 million, to Jerry Hall
I’ve got one word for these poor rich guys: PRENUP!
