Ventilation Issues at Britney Spears Concert in Vancouver
Fifteen minutes into her concert in Vancouver, Britney Spears had to leave the stage. There was too much smoke from the crowd’s cigarette/marijuana smoke. The concert took place in a non-smoking building which caused ventilation issues. According to PEOPLE, a female voice announced to the crowd,
“The building is awfully smoky. It is uncomfortable for everyone on stage, including Ms. Spears. Please extinguish all cigarettes – this is a non-smoking building, and the show will resume when the smoke on the stage is cleared.”
The crowd was obviously pissed off as Britney was off stage for a litte more than thirty minutes. Britney and her crew members had every right to leave the stage due to the smoke. It was the audience who caused the smoke. They may be performers, but their health should come first. Once the smoke cleared out, Britney did go back on stage and complete the concert. A statement of apology was posted on her website. I don’t think she needed to apologize. She didn’t do anything wrong except care about her health.
