Santa Barbara Filmfest Honors Will Smith

What more can Will Smith ask for?

However you look at it, Will Smith is probably one of the most successful persons in the entertainment business today. He had a highly successful sitcom, has sold millions of hip-hop albums, starred in some of the highest grossing films of all time, has a gorgeous wife in Jada Pinkett-Smith and is the proud father of three kids.

So I ask again, what more can Will Smith for?

An Oscar.

Yeah, he still doesn’t have one of those. A Grammy, yes. Oscar, no. Nominated once for Ali, and nominated again this year for The Pursuit of Happyness.

However, he’ll probably have to wait a little longer for that. With stiff competition from Leonardo DiCaprio and Forest Whitaker, Will Smith will have to settle for the Modern Master Award, which was given to him at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival over the weekend.
